Default E61 - BES cant send emails- but BIS can - 11-05-2006, 11:50 PM

Hi, hopefully i have found the place for a solution to my problem.

I am using E61 with firmware 2.0618.06.05. using 2.1.1.17 BB connect Desktop for Nokia, and BB version 6.28(3) on my E61, with cingular BB unlimited plan.

My BIS works pretty good, i have 3 accounts set up, and one of the three is a corporate, which is sometimes missing emails, about 1 or 2 each other week. A few weeks ago i was not able to send emails on my corporate email account over BIS as well, but that has not been a problem the last couple of weeks

That same corporate email address i have set up for BES. I recieve all the emails unlike the BIS, but i can not send emails from it. When i try sending a message, it fails and after a few seconds i recieve a text message stating:

Subject- Blackberry Service Error

Remote e-mail server error. The remote server is unable to perform one or more of the following tasks: storeing the message, creating the message, or sending the message.
-End of message-

Please let me know how to solve this problem, i have been trying to get this to work for weeks, with no results.

Thanks

Dogg.
I'm a little confused about your question - so if you can answer some of mine I might be able to assist.

1) Is your company actually running a BES server or are you trying to integrate a corporate email account via BIS. If you're runinng a BES then what version BES are you running (speak to your IT guys)

2) If the answer to (1) was yes then have you previously had a full BB handheld working on the BES sending and receiving email

3) Does your carrier have you provisioned for BES on their network - you can't use BES if you don't pay and get provisioned for it. In the UK BIS is 20 pounds per month (approx) less than BIS.

4) have you followed the steps in the FAQ - on how to activate a connect device on a BES - BlackBerry Connect - BlackBerryFAQ

cheers

1) I did not get a response back yet from the IT department, so i do not know the BES version. My co workers have blackberrys and they work fine, they are using it through BES. Just for clarification, i have also set up that account with BIS, and i am able to send emails, but the problem is that not all my emails are arriving with bis. While BES, all emails arrive, and they are synced(open on the laptop shows opened on phone and vice versa) but i am unable to send messages.(BES cant send but receive all, while BIS cant receive all but can send)

2) i have never personally had a working BB device that sends and receive, but then again this is my first device, but my coworkers BB devices are working fine.

3) i have BES and BIS package, currently pay $65/month for it (US dollars)

4) yes, but it still wont work, i am suspecting it could have to do with certificates, so i proposed that to IT department but they are lagging.

Hope this clears up any questions.

thanks

Default Cannot send from E61 using BES - 05-01-2007, 11:15 AM

Like you guys, I can receive but not send from my E61 using our newly installed BES. We upgraded from BIS to BES and now find that the E61 does not allow remote calendar or contacts management and wasted so much time trying to figure out why I cannot send emails.

I would not recommend the E61 for heavy remote email etc users because it is highly complex to set up and the lack of full BB functionality.
