Default Intellisynch Settings/Multiple Computers - 03-29-2005, 06:22 AM

I have successfully activated my BB 7100g and solved some of the original problems. I connected to the Desktop Manager and opened Intellisynch. When I click on Configure PIM, The Address Book, Memo Pad, and Tasks are not selected, and there are no arrows between them and MS Outlook (I use MS Outlook connected to an Exchange Server). Calendar is selected and it says Blackberry Wireless Synch next to it.

How do I synch the Outlook Contacts, Notes and Tasks? Are these all done wirelessly? Or do I need to set the conduits in Intellisync. I was under the impression that my entire mailbox (at least the main PIM apps-email, calendar, contacts and tasks) synched wirelessly, without necessity of connecting to computer.

Also, can I connect to both my home and work computers. They are both on Outlook, and synched because both connect to the Exchange Server.

Thanks.

Chris

Do you have BES 4.0 - if so you will not want to use the desktop mgr intellisynch settings. Once you do the enterprise activation it sets-up wireless synch automatically. check the options menu under each item on your bb tasks, notes, calendar, contacts. In each options menu is the ability to select wireless synch to "yes" right from the blackberry. If you use intellisynch and synch with the server it will override the wireless synch settings and set them to whatever they are in the configure PIM area I believe...i.e. it breaks it.. hope this helps...with BES 4.0 intellisynch is not needed anymore..yippie!

I think I "broke" it. After activating an having everything synch wirelessly, I connected to Desktop Manager. I now have the options I described in the original post (only Calendar says Synch Wirelessly, and there is no setting from Contacts, etc.). Is there any way to "fix" this. When I view my contacts, and click the wheel, and go to Options, Wireless synch is not there.

Thanks.

Server admin needs to reset your BES account on the BES server and you will need to redo your enterprise activation from your blackberry handheld.

Let the device go through the entire activation..it can take awhile..even over an hour depending on how much data your exchange server needs to synch with your Blackberry and visa vera. When it is done you will get and activation complete message on the blackberry.

Then check for the wireless synch options under each PIM item on your blackberry. Make sure they are set to "YES" and you should be all set.

Also -you will want to configure desktop manager NOT to do the intellisynch when the device is plugged into the computer or take it out of your start-up folder in windows. You only really need it update software on the Blackberry once you port to 4.0
