I have an E61 and it is frustrating when you use Blackberry Connect. You are doubly (sp?) on the attachments you can view. Both Blackberry and the Nokia have to support it WITHOUT the aid of external viewers. The big problem for me was bitmapped PDFs which I could view easily on a real Blackberrry and I can view it on an E61 if it is syncing directly with an Exchange Server, but not via Blackberry.

Also, wav files are a problem for me. My E61 can handle them natively, but Blackberry cannot. Ugh.

I love my E61, and find it a better travel companion than a Blackberry, but I miss Blackberry's autocompletion and some of its viewers. Hopefully the Blackberry Connect 4.0 upgrade for the E61i will also run on the original E61.

Question BB Connect 4.0 for WM and the new RIM Application suite for WM - 04-24-2007, 10:05 AM

Given recent news I don't think that is completely off topic to ask the question in this thread. What is the relationship between BB Connect 4.0 and the Blackberry Application Suite for Windows Mobile Devices. The Rimarkable guys seem to imply that this new effort marks the end of BB Connect. On reflection doesn't it seem odd for RIM to be rolling out BBC 4 currently and its' replacement in just a few months later. As someone who has been holding off buying a WM device until BBC 4 came out I am curious about the relationship between the two apps. Anyone have any more info or insight. Thanks. Just trying to get a straight answer in a twisted world.

for those of you that is not aware bbc 4 have been released for abt a week for the dopod 838 pro or the 8525. see this link. Dopod released Blackberry PPC Client - xda-developers . so the windows platform have beaten nokia to it. The blackberry browser works great for those on unlimited GPRS for the blackberry, well for me at least. now my dopod works great. IMHO. Furthermore with the window 6 legit version round the corner, things seem to be heating up on the window platform.

push mail is only the fundamental. other features in questions could be wireless sync of task, note, contact, calendar etc, support of attachments size and file formats plus other integrations with exchange features like out-of-office.

I think I already know the answer to this, but using BBC on a WM device requires a BB or a BBC data plan correct? Wont work on the smartphone or PDA data plans?
