Default BlackBerry Connect Cingular 8525 - 03-07-2007, 01:38 AM

I just got a replacement phone from cingular i had problems with my other 8525 which has blackberry connect on it and on the other phone it worked just fine until i got the replacement phone 8525.

Now it will not even generate a new pin and i have the blackberry connect plan on aslo. What is strange is that when i login to my blackberry login from the cingular website i still see the old pin from my other phone that i do not have anymore in there and i cant get it out from the website.

Now the replacement 8525 i just installed blackberry connect and it will not connect and says pending where the pin is suppose to be.

How can i get it to work again? Any help would be great in getting it to work again so i can use blackberry connect again. What do i do to get the pin so it works.

Thanks

I have the same issue. I did all my research and then went out and got an 8525. I remember seeing some posting on some web site that the blackberry connect software actually checks or only works within a range of IMEI numbers. Apparently the new IMEI numbers from cingular for the 8525 fall outside that range somehow :(. don't hold me to that, I am only guessing.

I am having the same issue on my new 8525. I had a TyTN on which it worked but suddenly it does not generate the PIN or the IP address on the 8525...oh well. Didn't really use it much anyways but it was nice to have access to.

I found a later version. Have not tested. Perhaps it works? Let us know.

Glad it worked.. I will probably try to load later today.

I think the software was checking the IMEI numbers and if it didn't match a certain range or something, it wouldn't work. I found a post on an asian site somewhere where someone stated that the software needed to be regenerated due to some imei numbers out of range or something..

what do you mean it searches for range if IMEI numbers? meaning specific to the phone? If only there was a way some how to see which version works with the IMEI number of the phone before hand.

No clue. it was just something I read somewhere..

The only annoying part I don't like about the blackberry connect is that I can't use my IM+ Client and have both connected at the same time. As soon as I connect using the Cingular WAP/ISP connection, the Blackberry connection drops and says radio blocked.

you need to go into your webclient (cing.com/blackberrystart) page and login with your user name and PW. when inside there is the update device link that will allow you to kill the old PIN and enter the new PIN and IMEI.

Sounds like your other issue is getting the replacement device registered. Basic battery pop and make sure you are on GPRS/EDGE netwk should work. If this is still issue, call cingular to check service books in the device. probable need to delete all and have them resent.

Can someone validate that the new version supports jpgs, office docs and HTML?

This is the version that finally got BBC running on my 8525. It had not worked with any previous revisions. If you're having issues with the "PIN Pending" or such, try this version, and it should work for you...
