Default Internet and E-mails on nonRIM device - 04-19-2007, 04:14 AM

Hi,

I am a blackberry novice and need a clarification. I have a BB 7290, which I use for e-mail and internet surfing. My question is if I use this SIM card in a BB connect device such as Nokia E65, will I be able to set the phone up to receive e-mails and surf the web? Will I need any psw etc to do that, because this is my companies SIM card. It is a US T-mobile sim.

Another question is, will a phone locked to T-mobile UK sim card work with T-mobile US sim card. Is it easy to unlock blackberry phones?

I think I am confused because I don't know if BB e-mail service and web service are the same or provided seperately.

Many thanks!

I can't comment on the E65, but I've got an E50 in front of me. It browses the web via the provider's Internet access APN, and can send and receive email at "what appears to be" the same time.

This is somewhat at variance with what it says here:

but I suspect the problem is me not really understanding what that thread's saying.

To use your existing Blackberry SIM card you may need to get you provider to add their Internet access APN to it (I've no idea how these things tend to be done in the US, unfortunately).

I don't know about your specific device, I am running BBconnect on an old MPX220 and everytime I connect to the Internet through the browser, BBConnect disconnects. When you close the browser, the connect agent automatically reconnects. Same when I make a voice call. I am assuming this means I dont get emails while surfing/talking.
