Default BB Connect on Treo 680 in India, Anyone?? - 05-22-2007, 02:00 AM

Now that blackberry connect is available in India. Has anyone tried installing it on their Treo 680 in India & seen if it works..

Please let me know if anyone has tried it... i want to know if it works before buying it & experimenting it on it.

After installing it, it might register , but can you change your handhelp PIN & IMEI.. cause i can install it on my windows phone & register as well from the handset, but when i login to change my handheld.. it does not take the PIN & IMEI of the windows based phone.

Also airtel has the same problem with the Nokia E70, i dont think they support it.

Can someone post screenshots of BB working on Treo 680.

As far as I can tell, the only Treo currently supported is the 650:

It won't work. Its for BES and if you are using BIS. It just not available yet. This is also one of the reasons I sold the Treo 680. The battery of the Treo 680 really suck as well. The only good thing about the Treo 680 is it is the only one that fully sync with Mac Entourage.

I dump my 8800 because RIM don't support Mac User

I can't comment on anything Treo related, but I just came back from a trip to India yesterday. I am on BIS and took my BB 8800 (unlocked) and Nokia E62 (locked) with me to experiment.

I was unable to get any data services at all from Aircel, it was GSM only and my phones both automatically connected to Aircel when I first powered up the phones. Thinking "that's the way it's gonna be over there", I left it at that for a few days. Then I manually switched providers to Airtel and got EDGE and full data services (email, internet, etc.). I didn't try the other two providers out of four that were detected. Off the top of my head, one started with a B (Bharti?) but I can't recall the other one.

This post is probably moot if Cychan means that BIS isn't available for your model of Treo, but thought I'd post anyways.

Edit/Add: I have a great deal of trouble personally setting up PIN/IEMI stuff online, using Firefox or IE7 for some reason, I would always get errors and had to phone and get my provider to set it up. When I switched phones from my older E62 to 8800 I was finally able to do it myself but only after a good dozen tries (the boggling part is that each of those dozen tries was exactly the same thing pasting in my PIN etc. and finally the last try worked).
