I tried connecting but I was given a message that I had to disable my password. I had already set up a password for the email through the exchange server. I tried disabling it, to no avail. Can one install BB without disabling the password? If/when installed, can one continue accessing email sites both by Outlook and by BB? Is the BB emulation comparable to the real BB? Any differences?

I think they are talking about disabling the password for the Windows Mobile device not for the email account.

I thought the same. However I have not found a way to disable that password. Do you know how? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Try this:

AT&T Tilt / Blackberry Connect on the HTC America site - MoDaCo

HTC: BlackBerry Connect

HTC: BlackBerry Connect

Let me know if this works.

I will try these this week and let you know. The instructions are a lot more in detail and this should be helpful. Many thanks!

I am looking at buying the TyTN II here in Hong Kong but it seems like BB Connect is not support (at least for the time being). I wonder if the AT&T version is exclusive to AT&T or not? We here in Asia experienced a blockage earlier in the year when the TyTN was upgraded to WM6 and privately downloaded BB Connect 4.0 was somehow blocked.

I really like the device but it is a very expensive mistake if BB Connect doesn't work.

I am using BB Connect on my TyTN II with T-Mobile, so it is not exclusive for ATT.

For BB Connect on the Kaiser (a.k.a. TyTN II) do you need a BB dataplan or do you have to get a medianet account or something else?

I am moving from a BB8800 with a BB unlimited Personal account and BIS already set up. Will that just move over to the Kaiser?

Thanks. SO I can safely assume that the ATT $29.99 plan will also work.

I only know that the additional unlimited international data/email plan with T-Mobile is $19.99 per month and it is prorated and you can only have it turned on for the period you are traveling internationally. I have been told by ATT (when I used them for 2 days) that the additional international BB plan is $59.99 and you have to sign up for an entire year. I don't know if this is still true.

Well, you need to be a member to log in. I tried to create an account as you can even without a serial #. However, once I did that I was only able to access the owner's manual and none of the programs.

Can someone from these countries download and post it?

I think the problem being that the PIN generated by the AT&T BBC is not being reconized by the BB server in Asia, which is located in Singapore. That is why I think the BBC downloaded from HTC Asia will work if I can get my hands on it

hi vjma,

I have bought the Tytn II and downloaded the .84 version of BBC in sems.org. After a few hours of trial, it works completely fine. Im using Smartone

Hey bjablonka,
The only fuss I have now is that I think BBC messed up my internet explorer setting that I load only blank page even if my WIFI is connected. Using blackberry browser is fine. Anyone of you has this problem?

I want to comfirm if that is a way to use Live Messenger and BBC at the same time using one connection...

I have the BBC software in the computer. You can PM me if you cannot find the 84 version in sems.org.

BTW, I used P1i for few days. I have the problem reading chinese using BIS and they become all rectangle blocks. Do you have this problem?

Does PIN messaging work with this version of BBC?

Do you have to manually log on with BBC to have email, PIM sync, and MDS running, or can it run all the time automatically when the device boots up?

1. PIN is incoming only

2. It is automatic, Blackberry Connect starts right after reboot and works like a charm.

From what I can tell, you can have 3 or 4 email accounts on BB Connect. Can you also have the 5 under WM6 as well?

Blackberry Connect under WM is limited to 3 accounts for BIS, according Blackberry KB.

Hi Welllam,

I tried the AT&T one with my old 838 Pro and although I got a PIN, I cannot change it in the CSL BB page as it says invalid PIN. We are figuring that is because the PIN generated are from the BB server in the US and the Asian server is in Singapore and that it would recognise the PIN. However, if yours is working then it must be CSL. Damn.

Mine is fine. Very occasionally it will have a rectangular block for the sender but happens only twice. All in all I am very hapy with the P1i but I still prefer the Today screen on WM devices. That's why I want to get the TyTN II.

hmmmmm whats wrong with my IE?? I read in other problem that if the "email setting" tab isnt touched, then it would be fine... I dont recall i have touched it, I dun wanna do a hard reset as I have iknstalled many programs already.

Sems, I read from your site that you can use other data connection while emails are coming in fine. How did you set your data connection? Now if I wanna use Live Messenger, I will have to cut blackberry service. Anyway to have both service online?

I believe it is related to radio stack. On my S621, I was able to connect to both blackberry.net and internet.com APNs at the same time.

With tytn ii, I have the same experience as you. When I connect to internet.com, it says Radio is in use under Blackberry Connect. The setup was same. Hard reset the unit, install BBC, set it up, activate BES. Then add a new connection for internet.com, setup ActiveSync for Exchange (emails only).

And Dubdub, no you cannot, like I said it is a limitation of the software.

Default BBC 4.0 BES Question - 10-06-2007, 11:55 PM

Question regarding BBC 4.0...can my companies IT security policy block installation of 3rd party apps on a WM Mo 6 device like it can on traditional RIM devices?

Nope, they cannot, as BES IT Policies only involve native apps.

Help please! I am using the Kaiser and have the following issues.

1. There are 2 capital 'E's in the top. One that says Blackberry Edge and the smaller E says Tmobile Blackberry Edge when tapped

2. I can not simultaneously use the browser to access the internet at the same time that I am using the blackberry service to access emails. One of the 2 must be suspended.

In other words, I would have to literally suspend blackberry in settings to go surf the web.

Does anyone have this issue? Can anyone at all offer assistance to correct the settings so both can work together.

Any leads greatly appreciated!! Michael

I have issue #2, however I have no problems with surfing the net. Simply I use Blackberry Browser located in Blackberry folder in Programs, which uses blackberry.net apn and MDS to connect. Similarly if you use BIS, after activation, you should have an icon for Internet Browser, use that instead of regular IE link.

For any other Internet enabled apps, some work fine with blackberry.net apn, some dont, for those, i have to connect to the other apn, suspending blackberry.net.

But how can we re-enable web browsing via WIFI?

I don't want to connect via Blackberry.apn when I have access to my Wireless network at home.

After installing BBC4, it has neutered (disabled) Internet Explorer (can't see anything) and you are forced to use the Blackberry Browers.

Anyone know a way to re-enable WIFI browsing?

---

Also has anyone found a way to kill that lock application? The BBC4 lock app does not support an onscreen keyboard so you are always forced to open the slide drawer... real pain.

Simply disable the proxy in IE

"You can modify the registry key 'EnableAutoDetect' key found in the registry location:
[hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\curre ntversion\internet settings]

The default setting (that uses the proxy) is:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000000

(To disable proxy) Change it to:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000001

The best option is to delete the registry key (which I did) since some posts indicate this registry option gets set to 0 after a reset."

So, with the TyTN II/AT&T Tilt, BlackBerry Connect 4 give a web browser that does not cause BB Connect to be suspended or disabled? I will be able to access the web, just as nicely as I would have with PIE, and still get emails on time? I have an offer to trade my BB 8310 for a Tilt and if this is true then I am going to be very satisfied.

Yes, after you activate a BIS or BES account, you'll get a special link to Internet Browser or Blackberry Browser (or both if you activated both types) and that one uses your blackberry.net APN connection, so your emails continue to flow as you surf

Interesting that this is a known issue and with a browser to fix it.

I see kaiser's (and other WM devices) daily which correctly tear down the PDP context set against blackberry.net and create another against "internet" but then basically become confused about their connected state and tear down the "internet" APN also. Along with trying to connect with the netbios of everything in it's path.

Microsoft, Windows Mobile in it's raw state seriously sucks on a GPRS/packet switched mobile network. Do something about it !

I didn't get this link on mine. Might that be because my Tilt is unlocked and running on T-Mobile instead of AT&T?

It isn't really a big deal but it would be nice to have. Is it possible that there is another way to get it on my new phone?

Default Meetings send themselves - 03-31-2008, 05:01 PM

Hi Everyone,

I am working with BBConnect on HTC TYTN II (with BES) and I have two very troubling problems that I would be grateful to hear your thoughts on:

1. From time to time (mostly after soft resets) the device sends out meetings that were already in my calendar and that I did not intend to send again. What's even more disturbing, is that at times it sends out meetings that were not even orginially created by me (meetings that I was invited to), but it sends them on my behalf, which put me in some very embarrassing situations.

2. After every reset (and this began only recently) many of my already read mails are marked again as unread and I have to go through hundreds of mails and mark them as read again. This happens only on the device and not on my desktop outlook.

Has anyone encountered any of the problems above and perhaps can assist? I'm quite desperate

Thanks in advance!

Noozie: I've seen problem #1 with the meeting entries but only for one or two meetings and I haven't had it re-occur for a while now. Are you on Notes or Outlook for corporate email?

Don't have a solution for you but we are working the issue with RIM and I will advise if they give us a solution.
