Question Confusing T-Mobile Blackberry Unlimited Plan - 09-20-2007, 12:22 AM

I am very confused as to whether instant messaging (AIM) is included in my Blackberry Unlimited Plan (19.99).

In the store the salesperson told me it is unlimited because it is covered under web browsing. But the CS agent on the the phone says that it is not included because it is sent as a text message. Who is right?? I dont want to rack up a $400 bill on my first month, but I really would like to use AIM without paying per message!

Help!

Depends on the aim client you are using. Some use data while others use texts.

The one who said it uses the text messages. The IM client that comes with the BlackBerry uses your SMS message plan to send messages.

I would recommend an IM client such as JiveTalk, as that uses the BlackBerry data to send messages.

Yes....Jivetalk uses data, not sms. It's also well worth the money.

Question 09-20-2007, 12:59 AM

Doesnt look like its available for Windows Mobile devices.

I found another program called Webmessenger Mobile. Has anyone ever heard of this program, or know if it would operate the same way (use data)?

BTW, this forum is awesome, responses are so quick! Thanks for all the help!

JiveTalk is one of the best paid IM available for the Blackberry today. It's one time fee of $19.99 or $29.99 with a chance of using it on other Blackberry if you ever decide to upgrade your Blackberry.

Now to confuse you even more, T-mobile do offer a plan that combines voice, data, and unlimited text messaging. It's hidden away at T-mobile's website so not too many people know about it. But here's the link...

Plan 1
Plan 2

What OS are you using on the smartphone? Please vote! http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1437055

Great plans but no unlimited to mobile minutes. Also is this something you can get in a family plan environment?
