Default BES and Sony Ericsson P1i issues - 09-25-2007, 02:50 AM

Hi,

I wonder if anyone could help with a problem I am having.

I am using my P1i to connect to version 4 of Blackberry Enterprise Server. I have service pack 7 and the roll up installed. The problem I have is with getting the IT policy and service books to apply on my device. All other devices on the BES are on Vodafone and I am on o2 but I spoke to Vodafone and they said it should work ok but the Wireless Enterprise Activation would not work and I would have to do via the desktop connect software. When I run the software it finds my account etc fine. The BES does see my device as the PIN is entered next to my username and my calender sync's but when trying to apply the service books and IT policy it always fails and sets the status to "error". After this I can so longer edit my calender etc. If I take the 02 SIM out and sync over Wireless Enterprise Activation with a vodafone Sim card it works fine. I tried activating with the Vodafone SIM and then putting my o2 SIM back in and this did work for around 4hrs but then stopped and I have not been able to get working via this method since. I can receive PIN messages from other devices.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jonathan.

try this

Go to BES, select "Server" > "Global" tab > "Properties" > "Entreprise Service Policy" > select "PIN"

Add your device PIN Code

try to activate again

good luck

Thanks again.

we've got one running on 4.1.4 for exchange. on O2 in the UK
Dunno what version the phone sw is though

Are you SURE you are on the 'enterprise plan' on your O2 SIM. being just on BIS or the 'prosumer' tariff is not enough. Does this SIM work ok when used in a RIM device on the BES?

bertiebassett that looks like the problem! I did not know there was a separate cost for the enterprise data solution.

Thanks v much. Only problem now is that its £28 instead of £10.
