Unhappy Theme Download Issues With 8800...Help!!

Please Login to Remove!

Ok...I have downloaded the Dimension L-Theme OTA via a link on BlueRoomSolutions.com onto my 8310 Curve...and it works great. It shows up on my Applications list as well as under "Themes" in my Options.

So, I proceeded to download the same theme via the same link onto my 8800...and it says that the download was accomplished fine. However...although the theme module shows up on my Application list, it does not show on my "Themes" list in Options...so I can't load the theme. Why? What's wrong?

I thought the problem was I needed more space...so I deleted two themes that I hardly ever use to make room for it....but it still doesn't show up.

How can I get it from my Application list to my Theme list so that I can load it on the phone successfully? And...why did it load so easily on my 8310 and not my 8800?????

See if there is an 88xx version of this L-Theme to download to your 8800. Also, try a battery pull.

Curve themes work with 88xx series BB devices that are also running OS 4.2.2...that means that they will only work with 8830 and 8820 BB devices. NOT a 8800, which (I believe) still runs OS 4.2.1, right?

Ah...I hadn't thought of that.

But, would it still show the theme on my app list?

Because you technically downloaded the theme file to your BB, yes it will show up in the of applications. However, since the theme is not compatible with your 8800 it won't show up in your theme list. (Curve themes are exported for OS 4.2.2; 8800 themes are exported for OS 4.2.1.)

Thank you. This 8830 user did not know about the reciprocity with curve themes
