hi i have a storm with the zen theme installed as standard but dosent do much ,meaning sometimes get a lightning affect when opening a app but it is hardly ever is this normal or what what should the theme do any help please,.

Blackberry Themes are similar to Windows Themes. A theme is a pre-defined color scheme, font, icon images, icon layout, background image, etc. It doesn't "do" anything else. New themes for the Storm are currently in development by Plazmic and others.

The lightning affect you described is more of a bug, not a feature.
