Default Elecite Theme Issue - HELP!

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone on here downloaded the iBerry Elecite theme successfully on their Storm?

I just purchased the iBerry theme and received the OTA link. I initiated the OTA download and got a "download failed" error message.

I retried several times and got the same error message. I also requested an SMS OTA link and still received the same error message.

I sent a message to [email address] and received an auto-reply message that referred me to their FAQ page. The FAQ page does not address this issue.

Anyone have the same problem and develop a solution?

OK. Well one thing I have learned is that Elecite is nothing like Handango. You always get an email response from a real person when you have issues with Handango software. If Elecite Software doesn't work, you are on your own. They only auto-respond to emails with a list of suggestions that are already posted on the website.

In the end, I was forced to download the theme as a zip file, unzip it and install the theme with my app-loader. Although the website claims you can only load themes OTA, it can still be done with the DM. The vendor software allows you to download the theme as a zip file. So take advantage of that just in case.

Immediate Observations:

1. The "Slide to Unlock" image is just that - an image. The image CAN'T be manipulated by thumbing it from left to right as done on the actual iPhone. The phone must be unlocked using the physical button on the top of the phone.

2. Switching to more file icons towards the right does not occur via finger swiping. There are two dot's below the icons that represent right and left icon menus. You must touch or tap them to achieve the "sliding" visual.

3. There are no longer separate SMS/MMS and Call Log icons. The two are integrated into one "Memo Icon". Actually no real biggie. There is still a separate Email icon and duplicates land in the "Memo" box as well.

4. Other than Blackberry Messenger, I am unable to locate Yahoo or AIM instant messaging applications with this theme. It appears you must switch back to the original BB theme to access third party instant messaging programs. If there is a way to do this I would be delighted to know.

5. The theme is colorful and the basic functions operate smoothly without any lag. However the icons aren't as crisp as they appear on an iPhone.

6. The pop up menus have noticeably smaller font. They do work but some older users will be squinting.

IMO opinion, Elecite uses a bit of misleading advertisement on this one. However, in all fairness you definitely get $6.99 worth of theme. I had higher hopes for this theme but you get what you pay for.

Sadly, if I can't figure out how to access my third party apps within this theme Ill be reverting to the original Storm theme.

OK,

Gotta update in the spirit of objectivity and fairness.

I located and was able to access my third party apps under the iBerry theme. They were all moved to the "Downloads" icon.

Additionally Elecite did eventually respond via email with another OTA link. So, many apologies for the initial negative remark regarding customer service.

I am going to test drive this theme for a week and I might try the Droid theme next. For $6.99 what's there to lose!
