Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded an elecite theme and have just the JAD file on my desktop. I dont have internet or anything on my phone and was wondering if there is a way to get this theme on my phone still??? I tried all the confusing and long a$$ converting things and couldnt figure any of it out or didnt have the JAR file to use with it.. any ideas?? I also tried just putting it on my phone and trying to load it through media on the phone but the download just fails that way...

.jad files are meant for OTA downloads. If you tried to move it to the media card and download it that way, and it failed, then you're out of luck.

When you bought the theme, did you get a link to a .jad file? More specifically, was it a .jad link (the very end was .jad and not .com, etc). If so, then use the blackberry OTA Loader (google) and paste the link into its bar. Once the files have been gotten, put it on your phone via USB.

Those kind of files are meant to be downloaded through your BB browser, not your computer.

Do you have your download link? Does it look like this:

www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com/adslfj/a;f.jad (obviously, fill in the random x's and letters with the actual characters)

As long as the actual link ends in .jad, then you should be able to use the OTA Loader. However, if the link was a one download only link (as I'm assuming it is), then talk to elecite to get a new link.

There are reasons why the links are encrypted and prevent the OTA downloader program from working...various companies are going to this...using that program is a way that many people have STOLEN themes and posted them elsewhere. I have had that happen to me, which I think is wrong

This whole issue could have been prevented.

A) You could have done some research on .jad files prior to purchasing/downloading the theme.

B) You could have gotten a BlackBerry data plan which would have allowed you do download the .jad theme.

Also on their site they have this:

"Note: You MUST have a data plan/internet access on your BlackBerry in order to install themes."

I've only used OTA installer about 5 times when I didn't have a data plan. But I agree that it shouldn't be used to steal themes and posting them somewhere else.

Yes, if you are still looking at this.
I have a way to make JAD files go on your phone without doing an OTA.
I use it all the time.

If you like you can message me for the way cuz I'm not posting it on this forum sorry lol.
