Default putting a new theme on my 8800

Please Login to Remove!

hi there

im pretty new to blackberrys so this might seem like a noobish question but ive searched for my answer and had no luck.

Im trying to put a new theme on my 8800 but having no success. Ive tried OTA themes, they say they are installed and the phone restarts but when I got to settings > themes only the stock themes are there.
Ive tried downloading the alx file to my pc and transferring it with the blackberry software, again it says its installed correctly but theres nothing in my themes menu, although when using the desktop manager they are listed as installed applications.
I get the feeling im doing something stupid or missing something but can anyone help me?
My phones on 02 if thats any help (in case o2 have this function locked or something)

Default

are you downloading themes actually made for your device?
The not showing in the themes list is common problem if they are not designed for your device.
If they are designed for your device, try a battery pull and then see if they are there.
