Default New theme/New Media Player/Update OS?

Please Login to Remove!

Well, I am rebuilding my phone. (New body)

With that, I also would like to give the OS a little facelift since I'm sick of the default themes. I'd like to get a theme that looks like the new BBs if possible. Does anyone know of a theme that would be good?

Also, I'm wondering if there is a better Media Browser than the one that comes on the device that I could buy.

And finally, My 8310 is running 4.5.0.110. Is there any reason to upgrade to a newer release?

Thanks for any help.

edit: I highly doubt this is possible, but...Is it possible to run the 8900 curve os on my 8310?

Yes, upgrade the OS to .174, I think is the latest.

No, you cannot load another model OS to a different model device.

Will there be a noticeable difference upgrading to .174? I always wonder why there are so many updates that seem to do nothing.

We have the OS release update threads posted for just that discussion. You'll normally see in each one what users notice is updated. Each OS thread (look in the Sticky Notes section at the top of this section for the 8310 OS) includes a link to the previous OS release, read through that too... you'll begin to see and gather what people noticed new.

Im just curious, I saw this: BlackBerry - BlackBerry Device Software

It is my phone, but it appears to have the new version of the Blackberry Media Browser. How'd that happen? I can't download the file thats on that page since I have a Mac. :(

Download the release manually from your carrier and install from there, using the Desktop Manager for Mac.

I see nothing on AT&Ts website, and I googled "update blackberry" and I found some links on Blackberrys website that had phone updates, but I can't download it since I don't have Windows. C'mon RIM. Why wouldn't they make their phones more Mac compatible?
