Default Zen theme question

Please Login to Remove!

I was running the "old" Zen theme on my 7100 and the "Messeges" and "SMS Messages" where displayed with their own icons. I notice this is missing in the 8100 Zen theme.

Any way to make it show up again? Perhaps reinstall the "old" Zen.

Any ideas?

No idea but the new "universal message" icon also includes BBmessenger messages which is kinda cool. My old 8700 with bharti/zen did not do that.

My problem is I get many emails daily and want to keep those seperate from SMS and MMS for that matter. This universal mailbox, while cool, does not work for me because it comingles business (email) and personal (SMS) messages. I'd like to keep those in seperate mail boxes.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm not sure if this helps, but I played with the 8100 in the store today with the Zen theme, and if you go to the bottom of the menu, there is an option to reorder the icons. If you choose that, you will see that there are some icons that are hidden. It also allows you to hide any icons that you don't use.

Yes apply a search filter to your messages as you see fit. I use Alt-S for SMS and various other. See my tips site.

There is a combined mailbox as well as a separate mailboxes for each email address used on the 8100. The icons can be reordered under the Options menu as pointed out by the earlier poster.

A few great improvements in the 8100 / v4.2 based on one day's experience:

1) Enter name or partial name on home screen displays all matching contacts. Placing cursor over any contact displays all phone numbers. Clicking number or pressing send dials person. (No need to go to the address book for phone numbers any more.)

2) Reordering icons enable Berry411 to be on home screen vs. buried in the Applications folder on previous BB OS (home screen can contain any 5 icons in total - Mail, Calendar, AddressBook, Browser, and Berry411 in my case)

3) Edge speed is noticably faster.

4) Impressed with camera picture quality for 1.3 Mpixel. Easy integration to MMS or email photos.

5) Voice dialing appears to be well implemented. A Bluetooth headset will be very useful as the phone can remain put away when initiating many calls.

Mine automatically did seperate boxes for the text/mms and my two email accounts. which for now is ok, but i think i'll want to combine the two emails into one box to make room for another icon on the dashboard.

The added inboxes for different paired email accounts is a featue of BIS 2.0/2.1 as opposed to anything theme based. Everything will still be collected in the main messages folder though, so you can hide those additional inboxes if you want.

I see the multiple mail boxes but they are only for email accounts. Does anyone see a seperate "SMS Messages" mailbox?

That's what I need.
