Default 8100 in Aussie. Can someone advise when new theme's are avail?

Please Login to Remove!

Howdy - Got my 8100 this week (I'm in Australia on Vodafone). A TMobile version, sent from the US (unlocked). Put in my SIM, changed IMEI and PIN on BIS, powered up and works perfectly!!!

This is my 7th BB and the one I've been waiting for. Camera, media player. Now I can get rid of my SonyEricsson K800i (used with my 8700v or 7130v) and just use 1 device - and it's spectacular too. I am very, very happy with it.

Only bug I've found is that with my home converted mp4s it won't stop or pause once started, just plays till the end - anyone have advise on that?

I've hacked and changed the theme to Vodafone, just so I can seperate sms and email - it would be GREAT if anyone can advise this thread if the Zen theme or similar becomes available with seperate SMS icon, I just don't like the Voda theme much.......

Also for any other Aussies, the Australian ran a story saying 8100s would be here by Christmas, don't know what telco though. Voda seems to be later most of the time unfortunately (they have the best plan!!)

So after 2 7200 series, a 7100v, 8700v, 8707v (crap), 7130v - the 8100 is the perfect one!!!

Can't help with the themes question, but with the video issue.

Follow ZRO's mencoder method in the first post of the thread, I experienced the same issue you are talking about when I tried using the SUPER Method and saving as a 3gp file, but with the mencoder method everything that comes out is clean. I'm still working on getting my WMV's to encode correctly but DIVX, XVID, and MPG's all come out flawless.

Can you use a standard U.S. version 8100 or 8700 in Australia without using a different AC power source/charger? Is it as simple as getting an adapter for the wall plug? Thanks for any insight.

yes, it is as simple as that, or you can get an Aus BB charger, they also work!
