Looks like Blackberry Unite! 1.01 has been released. The upgrade seems to have been pushed out to my system that has Unite! installed on it. Anyhow, there are some distinct changes after going through the new options.

One option that stands out is the ability to choose whether to use the Unite! browser or BIS.

MMS can be enabled/disabled
SMS can be enabled/disabled
New option for Remote Administration and application downloading

With the browser option...no more IT policy issues as far as I can tell (if you choose BIS).

Do you need OS version 4.5 to use it?

As far as I can tell, you don't. Using it with my BB8800 with OS4.2.1.101 on Rogers. Works fine. Nice to have the options for the browser now.

How do I get the update? I am still on 1.0.0

That, I'm not really sure of It just auto-updated. I didn't initiate a download or anything. Nonetheless, nothing got wiped out on my system (thankfully). I'm sure a download link will pop up. Wish I could be of more help :(

Did you leave Unite up and running?

Yes. Since installing 1.0, I've left it running the whole time (problems and all). I hope someone else can chime on this. I personally haven't been able to find a standalone download of the software anywhere.

I've included a screenshot of the main interface for all to see the new options. Notice the version number at the bottom.

Mine also updated to 1.01. No interaction needed.

yes its still blocked. But I did notice they now support desktop wallpapers first time I have seen that.

forgive my ignorance here, but what I am hearing is that the 1.0 will auto update to 1.01?

I was an early adopter ( first day it came out) and spent the next day trying to get everything back to normal. Is this updated version make it worth it?

What happens if the computer you have running unite is turned off?

nothing happens. everything is off

then it wont work server has to be up and running

if the computer is off, you cant do anything on the computer. i was being corny. However if you chose to use the unite web browser and its off, you may not be able to browse, email and stuff.

its not really a wall paper. Go to options security general settings and scroll down you can change the message background colours

oh.wait, before it didnt work, but it was there. i made them blue and red and all messages were blue regardless of account.

I got UNITE up and running again, it updated to the newer version. Now that I have it installed I remember what the biggest reason was and why I removed it. My 8130 when connected to the computer works fine. When I connect my 8330 to my computer it instantly blue screens and crashes... Had to wipe and go back to where I was when I started the day. I don't know if it is XP SP3 that is causing it or what.

I am running xp sp3 and unite 101 with a 8330 with out issue

1.01 Build 35 was just pushed out.

Bundle 35 rolled in just as I was leaving the office. From a quick look there didn't seem to be an visible diffs.

I am the end of my rope with unite. I have it setup as well as bes for the office and it is nothing but hassles. I have had it running for about a month and just do not find it to reliable. And every time i make a change or the software upgrades it wants me to plug in the blackberry. I have no problem with that, however with bes, it won't activate because of security policy in place. Who wants to wipe their blackberry 3 times in a week for unite?

not me... I have kept it on for my wife, it doesn't really matter for her. Maybe 2.0 will be better.
