Default Unite and Battery Drain - 06-15-2008, 11:11 PM

OK...so I downloaded Unite and have it set up to where my wife and I share a calendar. Everything is going great...

but now my battery is draining quite rapidly.

The only change has been the addition of Unite. *this*
The only change has been the addition of Unite. *bears*
The only change has been the addition of Unite. *repeating*

- Has anyone else experienced this?
- What is the cause?
- What is the cure?

Thanks-

-simpson

Hmmm, I've noticed the opposite, but I have a bunch of programs running on my BB that used to open and maintain SSL sockets to my server, but now use device side sockets through my Unite server.

What do you mean by "rapidly"?

Before: I could go all day (business day) without a recharge and not get into the 'red zone' on battery life until the evening.

Now: Better recharge before lunch.

From 8-12 hours of workable life down to 3-4
No change in usage.

Try changing themes....I've seen certain themes do this, occasionally.

Yes, I have similar battery drain using Unite on 8100 w/4.2 (and no other changes). I am guessing that there is more GPRS radio activity, but have not seen written documentation on the subject.

One interesting note: On a recent trip to Canada (connected to Rogers), the battery drain seemed normal. Perhaps, there is something different with Unite! and T-Mobile in the USA?
