Default Seven reasons why BBs are better than the IPhone - 09-30-2009, 05:44 PM

We have to be honest with each other. People are going to compare them. It's inevitable. BlackBerrys and IPhones are the two greatest things to happen to the mobile communications world since two cans were tied to a string and people will always compare the two of them based on their opinions and a few facts that are twisted to their advantage. I offer you my very own list of reasons that I believe makes the BlackBerry a superior device over the IPhone.

7. More Hardware Variety
Don't like touch screen? That's ok. Want a full Qwerty keyboard? We've got that. How bout the love-it or hate-it SureType keyboard? We invented it. Flip? Yep. Slider? That's rumored to be coming pretty soon. RIM knows its customers like variety and they offer it in leaps and bounds.

6. More Carrier Variety

Yeah it does, but it took over three years for Apple to finally release a technology that has been available on BlackBerrys since the first device with a camera came out. And even after they made their phones capable of MMS, AT&T blocked it for another 3 months.

User replaceable battery.
Until Apple invents that, the iPhone has a crippling disadvantage FOR ME.

This site still gives me a chuckle. iPhone fanboys rage against it too, which is also quite a hoot!

Yes it's an old debate and perhaps the horse is being repeatedly mutilated post humous, but it's a fun debate as well.

so true! unless someone comes up with a new set of 'statements' as to why the other is better.. this thread might just die a quick death.

The differences are preferential, really. I'd have to agree these conversations are getting boring, unless of course somebody is an extreme fan boi of one or the other, then it gets slightly entertaining.

even if.. it's the standard argument really.. whoever is an extreme fanboy will do whatever it takes to show their phone is better than the best etc.. however ridiculous the arguement may seem. it does get boring, unless some people start with their sardonic comments, then we have fun

Ungh... two problems with this Topic:
  1. This is worn out and, as already pointed out, boring. There has to be something better to talk about. Anyone that feels that they must continue to bring this up must feel some remorse for owning one device over the other.
  2. I hate when people blatantly try and ride the coattails of a successful website by "posting" here with a link for "more" details that is on their own website. Either post here, or post there, but don't post a teaser here hoping to get traffic to your own site. How is this any different than any other spam that gets eliminated here?

I own both devices (Bold and 3GS), and periodically I switch devices when I'm in a business mode or leisure mode. As we know, the iPhone kicks ass with its Safari browser, but nothing beats a physical keyboard along with a replaceable battery and MicroSD memory card.

Why I like the iPhone: Safari browser, and the fact that chicks are more impressed with the iPhone when I go out clubbing with it. Chance of getting laid is easier when you sport the iPhone because chicks dig it more.

Why I like the Blackberry: easy to switch the MicroSD memory card. You can put in all the nature pictures, romance flicks and songs in the device when you are with your girlfriend, and while she's away you can put in the MicroSD memory card loaded with nasty MP4 pornos for fun. Try doing that in your iPhone, buddy!

First, I have to start out by saying that at this point, I was with you. With you like sitting down with you to lunch and talking about old times. With you like someone calls you a dork for having an iPhone and you reply "no I'm not" and I hear the hurt in your voice so I stand up and beat that person that called you a dork with the chair I was just sitting in until they start crying like a child and I then say "yeah, he's not a dork." That kind of with you. At least I was right up until I read the rest of your post.

I came to the conclusion that "chicks" that are more impressed with what phone I carry than they are interested in me as a person aren't worth my time. Why? Well, simply put, because I'm older than 12.

I am truly, truly sorry that you need a phone to have sexual relations with a woman. There must be something really wrong with you, and I can only imagine that the scenario plays out like this:

SmoothOperator silently approaches a small cluster of women in the corner of the bar that have been watching his every move, confidently tugging on the collar of his pastel blue Members Only jacket to ensure that it is standing up at just the right height that says "I'm cool."

As his figure emerges from the dark, smokey depths of the dance floor bathed in multi-colored lights gleaming from the disco ball overhead, it is then that Leslie Wannamaker, the unofficial pack leader of the three friends that have been watching SmoothOperator walk across the dance floor, realizes just what a mistake they have made. She can see clearly now that they have wasted their time. Not so much because of the Members Only jacket, and not so much because of the greased back hair. No, in reality it's because of the pencil thin mustache, the pimply face, and the pocket protector that seem to take center stage with SmoothOperator.

It was made worse for her when he said through a slimy smile "hello, ladies" with saliva dripping from his lips. She quickly came to the conclusion that looking at SmoothOperator was like looking at a horrific train wreck. She wanted to look away, but her morbid curiosity couldn't let her stop. She only hoped that the others felt the same way so at least she wouldn't seem so strange.

And it was then that it happened: SmoothOperator reached into his pants (strangely enough, not into a pocket but right in the center of his pants, and it was never determined if he was reaching over or under his underwear) and whipped out his iPhone. The music immediately stopped, the fog machine quit belching out fog, and everyone gasped at the exact same time.

Leslie didn't even notice the overwhelming silence or the acid burning in her stomach when she involuntarily looked SmoothOperator in the eyes and blurted out "I must have sex with you!"

So let me get this straight: you have a girlfriend that you patronize by watching movies that she wants to watch, and you go out on the weekends to pick up "chicks" with your iPhone, and wrap that all up with watching porno (presumably because you don't actually get anything from the girlfriend or the tramps you pick up on the weekend, so your only recourse is to watch professionals have sex)? You are a classic sleaze-ball. Please tell me you have a leisure suit because that would just make my morning so much more wonderful. I mean, your post has been funny, but to know you have a leisure suit would be even more hilarious.

So if nothing else, thank you for filling my morning with a good laugh. Really. I mean it. Thanks. I would never be sarcastic with you.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that it has nothing to do with their choice in phone. Just a guess though.

Dude, two years ago the first iPhone got way more attention than any other device on the planet, and chicks dig the device because it's so sleek and sexy. However, everbody has an iPhone now, so the allure is not what it used to be. Regardless, the new 3GS would garner far more attention than a crappy old 8310, though the new Blackberry models are starting to compete. I'd have to give the edge to the new 3GS because it is more bimbo-friendly. Leave the Blackberry at the office and go clubbing with the iPhone. Simple case of penetration motivation.

The iPhone garnered more attention than any other phone, maybe, but you might be exaggerating, just a bit, by suggesting that it got more attention than any other device on the planet. Maybe. Just a bit.

Quote:
...and chicks dig the device because it's so sleek and sexy.
Possibly.

Quote:
However, everbody has an iPhone now, so the allure is not what it used to be.
Again with the slight exaggeration, but then making a valid argument was never really your strong point, now was it?

Quote:
Regardless, the new 3GS would garner far more attention than a crappy old 8310, though the new Blackberry models are starting to compete.
There is a recurring theme here, and so I am confident that I can say, without reservation, that you obviously need attention to get by on a daily basis. Without constant affirmation of your existence, I can only image you would whither into dust and blow away. That is truly sad.

Quote:
I'd have to give the edge to the new 3GS because it is more bimbo-friendly. Leave the Blackberry at the office and go clubbing with the iPhone. Simple case of penetration motivation.
More proof that you are a shallow, thinly veiled, and pathetic excuse for a man. And more proof that you apparently don't have what it takes to get attention without flipping out a cell phone. If you can't see just how sad that is, then there is no hope for you.

I'm almost speechless in regards to what SmoothOperator has said. Maybe there's a niche of women that are easilly impressed by cell phones that are shiny, and they are attracted to men such as SmoothOperator that cheat on their girlfriends on the weekends and watch porn on their cell phones. I dunno.

You could copy and paste the code below in place of the image in your post. This code will show a smaller version of the picture that is a link to the larger version. I just uploaded the original plus a smaller version to one of my websites.

HTML Code:

And by the way, it's no big deal to me... just giving you a hard time.
