Angry 8703 Stuck in Searching for Devices! - 01-09-2008, 03:34 PM

Hi. New to this forum and I have a problem that I really need help with. I upgraded to vers 4.2 today, and while establishing a bluetooth connection with my tomtom 510, I hit search for new devices on the 8703. It is now stuck in "Searching for Devices".
I have powered down several times, tried to turn off BT (will not turn off), went into settings - bluetooth - and it comes back to the searching for new devices... under paired devices. The STOP button is highlighted, but does not react.
The only way out of this screen is to hit the disconnect call button. the blue indicator light flashes every couple of seconds and it's killing my battery life.

Has anyone run into this, and how do I get past this??? I really appreciate any help.

Pull the battery, don't power down.

That should reset the BB.

Do you have a device you wish to pair with it, ready in pair mode?

Duh ..... and it worked!

Before the BB I used a Palm. There was no pulling the battery on the Palm. I inherited it from my daughter who just got the iPhone.

I was connecting to my tomtom 510. I was able to use it for Handsfree, then just upgraded and now keep getting error message and constantly asking for bluetooth numeric passkey "0000". It connects, then drops out. Over and over. Also checking in TomTom forums for help. The tomtom finds "wireless data connection" but not the phone???

If you have any ideas...
