Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

From what I've heard you can't use it via bluetooth...I use my 8700g as a modem tethered via the usb cable. There might be a third party app that allows the BT connection, but someone who knows that for sure might have to chime in.

Default How to set up dial-up networking using Bluetooth technology - 02-28-2008, 04:07 PM

This knowledgebase article from RIM addresses BT tethering for the 8100, 8300 and 8800 series... If you care to try on your 8707, please let us know how you make out . . .

The 8707 probably has OS 4.1 and BT is voice capable only under that OS. If there is OS 4.2 for the 8707, that might let you do it, but I don't know for sure.

As a matter of fact, OS 4.2 is stickied on the 8700 forum...

With OS 4.2 you can use BB as a modem with bluetooth. I use it all the time, although the slow speed drives me crazy sometimes...

By the way, the most stable OS 4.2 for the 8707 is the NTT Docomo version. I highly recommend using that version. Cheers!

Here is the link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...available.html

Installation instructions are same as all other OS's listed on this board, including deleting the vendor.alx file prior to connecting the blackberry. Cheers!
