I have recently purchased a blackberry pearl 8100 and have the most up to date software possible. I can connect to the computer through bluetooth but only transfer pictures and address book. Is there any other capabilities i should have?

I am pulling my hair out with this as well. I have searched every forum I can find but have found no postings that cover my specific issue. Please help!!

I have a blackberry pearl 8100 and have just purchased a new Sony VGN-SZ61M with Windows Vista with bluetooth built in. I can pair the phone with the computer but when I use the desktop manager for the blackberry so that I can sync with bluetooth, the option is grayed out and will not allow me to make the selection.

The built in bluetooth is: Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba (v5.10.10(SO)). When I say that the phone is paired with the computer, it looks like it's paired as a modem. I don't know if this makes any difference.

I have seen several posts regarding drivers built into the SP2 for XP but I can't find anything specific to correcting this issue for Windows Vista.

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Similar/same problem here. I only have audio gateway and dial up networking services with my 8130. I have another phone (motorolla slide) that has many other transfer capabilities. I am running xp pro and xp media center edition both with sp2 and same issue. If I can't transfer files via bluetooth to a phone that should be capable of....... don't want it.

Has anybody figured out how to sync the pearl with BT yet? i just got mine and I liked being able to sync wirelessly with my old RAZR.

I was sort of hoping it would be automatic... I'd walk in and the computer would automatically recognize the BB and sync all my contacts and calendar entries and such, but that's not looking good at the moment.

I can only sync the address book and back up/restore. The Media Manager and Application Folder are both greyed out. Don't know why.

I would like access to the SD Card, but other than that as long as I can sync I am fairly happy.

I am on Windows XP not Vista. Tried Vista, but took it back. It doesn't like old DOS databases.

My 8100 connects to my Mac laptop via BT, but it won't transfer phonebook or anything else. It acts as a modem, but even that is useless. It only connects once, and disconnects after 10 minutes or so. Then I have to shut off the phone, remove the battery, re-install it, restart the phone, and it connects though BT again.....only once! Even when connected, nothing on the internet downloads, no email, no websites, nada. So the 8100 is a pretty useless tool. I can't even synch the address book from my mac to the phone with the USB cable and PocketSynch! it transfers about 20 out of 120 contacts and that's it. The other 100 are in outer space somewhere. I entered some contacts manually, and they disappeared also. Maybe I got a lemon! The only good thing about it is that it's GSM, and works with any sim card in the world. Im not too impressed so far!
