Default Bluetooth connectivity problems

Please Login to Remove!

I have installed the Desktop Manager into my PC. I have a Belkin bluetooth adaptor plugged and it is indeed active (as evidenced by the system tray icon). My BlackBerry 8100 bluetooth is on and is in discoverable mode.

I however cannot get a connection to the PC via bluetooth. Upon opening the Conection Settings (from the Options menu in the Desktop Manager) I notice that the Bluetooth Settings option is disabled and I hence cannot do any configuring.

Any advice on how to proceed on?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8100: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I believe this is the case because the Bluetooth adapter must be using native Windows drivers, and not the WIDCOMM Bluetooth drivers that a lot of adapters use.

Thanks Jeremy,

The adaptor is using the Broadcom drivers. I have in the manual that for the Blackberry to connect the BT adaptor must use Microsoft drivers. Any possibility of getting the drivers online?

Yes. Uninstall the drivers you have, then run Microsoft Update to let it detect your device and download the MS drivers for you.
