Default Pairing 7520 with Plantronics Voyager v510 - 07-21-2005, 08:23 PM

After reading through reviews here, I pulled the trigger on the plantronics v510 bluetooth headset. I tried to pair the headset to my phone, to no avail. I thought It may be a software thing, so, I updated the software on my phone. it is now at 4.0.0.249, still no dice. I tried this with the radio on, radio off, no such luck. turned phone on and off, same with the bluetooth headset.

Instructions for the headset say to just turn it on, and pair it from the phone, but, thats not working out to well.

Any suggestions? Its probably something silly that I am missing here.

TIA

After you put the V510 in pairing mode (alternate Blue & Red LED flashing), go to Tools/setting/Bluetooth on your 7520. Open and make sure Bluetooth is on. Then select "Add device" (Make sure it says Bluetooth Enabled at the top) and select it. The device should start searching for a device. It should find the V510 and then ask for the pairing key. Enter 0000 and enter and the device should be paired. You then need to connect and set to trusted device in the properties menu.

If Bluetooth is not enabled on the phone it will not find and pair it. If the V510 is not in pairing mode it won't find and pair with it.

Hope this helps.

naturally, I mistook the bottom of the page of the manual where it said how to enable pairing on the headset for one of the other languages it is transcribed in. Threw it in pairing mode thismorning, has been working since. Thanks john. I will try to post up a review in the BB Headset review thread after a bit of use.
