Default Blueant Z9 connection issue - 04-05-2008, 11:27 AM

I just received a new Z9 today. Its all charged up and I
successfully paired the device with 2 different phones. When I power the
Z9 up, it takes about 60 seconds before it will connect up with either
phone. It seems to be in idle mode upon power up (blue flash every 8
secs) and aside from forcing a connect from the device, I have to wait a
minute before it will connect to either device. Just to be clear, I am
only trying to connect to one device at a time and only tried the 2nd
device to eliminate the 1st blackberry as being the problem. Thanks!

Do you have the latest firmware? (version 3.4)?

I am using a Z9 with an 8703 with no problems.

I have the v3.4 firmware. Are you running 4.2.x on the Blackberry?

not sure if this will solve your problems but...

got mine out of the box and it would not pair. I called tech support and they said sometimes they forget to factory reset these before shipping. from OFF position press and hold for 3 seconds... VOL UP, VOL DOWN, And Multi-Function (big button) until light comes on. This will reset it and device will immediately start blinking going into pair mode which will last for 1 minute.

by the way, everyone hated the voice quality until i upgraded the firmware, now they like it. Hope this help...

Wirelessly posted

Interesting as I cannot get the headset to reset using the above method: holding all thee buttons with the device off does nothing. v3.4

Default Connection Issues... - 05-19-2008, 01:15 AM

I'm in the same boat as you guys...

I have 2 BB's...my personal T-Mo Curve and my work Sprint 8703...even though I can pair both, it will only connect to one of them (whichever one I pair first after deleting the devices from each phone and re-pairing).

I updated the firmware on the Z9 to 3.4 but that doesn't seem to do anything, and I've never been able to reset the Z9. Holding VOL +- and the main button does nothing...

Help!
