Default Just got the 7250 and jabra BT250v - 07-28-2005, 05:52 PM

And I'm diggin it...we moved to the new device from the 7280 and the Bluetooth use is really nice. I never really thought the wireless headset would make as big a difference as it has, but taking calls on the road without that cord tangling things up is pretty slick.

Had good reception, good voice volume, and good battery life so far with both the unit, and the headset...I'm looking forward to a decidedly better future with the new unit.

I believe the "v" version vibrates when a call is coming in..

Default Slow connection - 09-19-2005, 02:30 PM

I've got the 7290 and the 250v and I've noticed that if I answer a call using the button on the handset it can take upwards of 5 seconds before the handset and the phone connect with each other. During those 5 seconds I can't hear anything out of the ear piece and the mic isn't active.

But if I answer the call using the scroll wheel on the phone it seems to connect up right away.

I am going to do a little more testing but has anyone else noticed this?

I have the same issue with my bb7250 and j250. Please share any testing results you may have. Thanks.

According to our phone guy this is a known issue with BB's and blue tooth.

As I find out more information I'll post more.

I got the same issue with my 7250 and Jabra BT250V the instruction book says it may take a few seconds to link but I think it is longer than a few seconds. Still I like the design and fit of the unit and the vibration is an added benefit. Sometime I have to leave my 7250 on total silent. With the headset in my shirt pocket I know when I have an incoming call. I only hope they can work out the delay issue, I sometime pick up clients in mid sentence when I finally connect.

I think it is a headset issue particular to the jabra headset described here. I have a 7250 with an HS-820 Motorola headset and I have never had that issue at all. I have continuosly heard this from this headset users though.

Wirelessly posted (your electric?: BlackBerry7520/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.12)

My HS850 did the same thing with delay, it did get a little better with the software upgrade (no more static!!!). I push the button on the headset to take a call. Hopefully it has gotten better, just purchased a new HS850 (black).

And I know what you mean about the cord in the car, that thing seems to tangle on everything!

Every now and then I have a call that has static but I haven't been able to determine if that's the particular call that I'm on or the placement of the phone in relation to the headset. I've notice that if I have the phone too close to me the reception is actually worse than if I set it on my desk a foot or two away from me.

I'm brand new to BB and BT, but I love the BT250v. I haven't noticed the delay yet because I usually answer with button on the BB. I'm still getting used to the buttons on the headset, and still hit the disconnect button on the headset sometime when I am adjusting the volume. The sound is amazing and clear. I do get comments that there is alot of background noise when I am walking outside (wind noise mainly). What is nice though is that I don't hear the background noise on my end, like I have experienced with my other Jabra headset. Its very comfortable and doesn't seem to be as obnoxious to me as some of the other headsets I have seen on the market. I like that its black also. My girlfriend says it looks pretty bulky when she looks at the side of my head, but not too bad. I also like that the blinking blue indicator is on the back of the unit. Overall I give it a 9 out of 10. Highly recommended!

I sometimes notice that being close to a wireless router or strong wireless environment causes static (more so than usual)

I've got the Jabra BT250 (non-V) and use it with my BB 7250 and love it. I initially bought a Motorola BT850HS and was totally dissatisfied with its fit on my ear and its low volume level at max setting (couldn't hear well in the car, which is why I want a headset in the first place). Disappointed, I scoured the web for reviews on BT headsets and stumbled on a review of the Jabra BT250. It sounded like what I needed and it met my expectations. It's volume goes up plenty high to hear well in the car, it fits my ear very comfortably and stays there, and people I talk to say they can't tell I'm on a headset. That, IMHO, is as good as it gets. Also, mine connects up instantly when I push its button for an incoming call.

I had the moto hs820 at first but it felt like it was going to fall off my head. I swapped for the 250v based on this thread and trying out our store's demo model that jabra sent us for the 250 (non v). I like how much more secure it feels (nothing worse then realising you lost an expensive headset) and it sounds great (as long as i am not at work, 40 someodd tv's near the kiosk make it a touch staticcy). The vibrate function is great too, especially since i forget my bb in the car once in a while, or bury it under stuff on my desk !

I have a Blackberry 7250 with a Jabra BT250V, besides the already mentioned call answering delay problem I have not been able to get the following features to work (basically all of them)

I can not make any of the features on page 10 of the manual work, Last number redialed, rejecting an incoming call, call waiting, putting a call on hold.

Has anyone else been able to make the features work with their setup?

I have the same combination of equipment and same (mostly) issues.

One thing I have noticed is that when initiating a call from the headset, the BT delay is not present. The headset connects before the phone system gets done doing its thing (almost immediate).

I had trouble initially with the headset with the volume level fluctuating radically during a conversation. The caller would be quiet, so I would turn the headset up, then they would suddenly get loud to the point of being painful in my ear, at which time I turned it down, only to have the vicious cycle begin again. Just as I was about ready to return the headset and try a Plantronics model, I found the "Automatic Volume Control" setting the the phone options. It was set to "Enabled". As soon as I disabled it, all my volume trouble disappeared.

As for the issues with features, I had some issues with call waiting, but nothing else to speak of.

I have been playing around with this, since I cannot get the advanced features to work as described there either. In my version of the headset manual (which I grabbed from the web because I can't find my original). It references several models of phones which support these features. The BB 7250 is not one of them.

I paired my BT250V using both sets of directions with no apparent change in the operation of the device.

Anyone with better luck?

I sent off a costumer support request to Jabra and got the following back from them. I tried the following procedure several times and I am now able to get the last number called function working but the hold and three way are still non functional.

I have not herd about the 250V and 7250 being non compatible though I would find that a surprise seeing as I purchased both items together from Verizon.

If we are all having problems with the 250V functions lets all give Karl a call at Jabra technical support, the number is listed below.

Thank you for contacting JABRA North America!

You may need to hard reset your phone and start the pairing process again. I've listed some steps below for you to try. Please make sure headset and cell phone are fully charged before starting this process.

Hard Reset:

1. Delete "JABRA BT250/BT200" from your phone.
2. Turn cell phone off completely, remove battery and sim card. 3. Put headset in cradle, connect it to the outlet and let it charge for 10 seconds.
4. Put sim card and battery back in then turn cell phone on but do not touch any settings.
5. Remove headset from cradle.
6. Turn off the headset.
6. Press phone symbol and volume up button until you receive steady blue light.
7. Put headset aside and start the pairing process on your cell phone. The pass code is (0000)

Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Got a brand new BT500 last week and it just works great. Had a BT250v before and miss its vibrate feature.
Other than that I like more BT500s form factor, more comfortable and lighter.
