Default Bluetooth Connection with Computer Goes On/Off - 05-16-2008, 01:41 AM

So, I have my BB paired with my computer. I run Desktop Manager and all works well. The BB connects automatically and will sync, backup, etc.

However, when I close Desktop Manager, the BB connects and disconnects with the computer over and over again. Anyone else experience this? Should the BT connection actually stay after DM is closed or should the connection terminate. I'd like to just have the connection only when Desktop Manager is running. I'd settle for connected all the time but this on/off business is annoying.

The Bluetooth connection is actually a function of your computer, not DM. DM just uses the BT layer that is there.

I use a Dongle for my BT and the phone stays connected whether DM is running or not. That way you can still move files, use your laptop for hands free, use the laptop as a speaker for the phones' audio output. All these functions are independent of the DM.

As far as the on/off thing, I haven't seen anything like this.

Yeah, I kind of figured all that. I just use the basic bluetooth drivers that are in Windows. I've had the same thing on two computers so, could it just be an issue with my particular BT dongle? I just wondered if anyone else had seen this on/off/on/off business...
