Default Are there any headsets that actually work for active people? - 06-24-2008, 10:41 PM

Ok folks, I work at a baseball park so I need a headset that not only performs well, for hearing and talking, but actually stays in my ear when it's 100 degrees outside and I am sweating like a maniac and running to get something done.

I tried the S9 for jogging and it works like ass, it jiggles up and down and doesn;t even come close to staying on my head.

I now have an expensive h12 set on the recomendation doens't, in any wme Sprint staff. They claimed the different inner ear pieces allowed for a better fit. Which it does not do...AT ALL.

So does anyone have any personal experience with a bluetooth headset that really stays on, works well and is some what comfortable?

Thanks!!!

the Aliph Jawbone works best for me, but I don't run with it or work at a ballpark.

If you have an S9, you seem to prefer stereo, so I would suggest either the Com-One stereo BT headset or the IOgear GBMH211W6 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Headphone with Microphone. Both are on-ear, not in-ear. The Com-One is a behind-the-neck headband deal - the IOgear is airplane-style earshell clip-ons with a wire behind the neck.

If you are not looking for the stereo, but just want our personal preference on what works...I use the Plantronics Voyager 510. It is an in-ear style, comes with 3 different sized earpieces. I am a big guy, with a big melon and the large size fits me fine. My wife has hers with the smallest earpiece, she's a little thing at only 5'1". So if we both can find one that fits well, I'm sure you could find one too.

What I like about this one is that the "workings" of the headset go behind the ear, and only the boom is going from the ear to the cheek. This helps the headset stay on well. I have tried others that just have a small clip that goes behind the ear and everthing else just sits outside the ear, they flop around when walking let alone running.

The 510 is so comfortable that I have actually gone to be with it on, forgetting that it was there. I have actually done everything with it on and it has never come off. Running, jogging, walking, changing the oil in the car, cutting the grass, shower (oops, had to replace it)

Sorry for the long post, but I love this headset....
