Default Bluetooth Virtual Laser Keyboard - 08-15-2005, 10:13 PM

We need to start a write in campaign for a Blackberry driver for this bluetooth keyboard!!

A "lighter" sized component that projects a full size keyboard by laser onto the table top and you can touch type. It connects to almost everything by Bluetooth but the BB according to the website.

Does it work on the 7100t? I downloaded the installation files but when I opened them there was no install for Blackberrys.

I think that BlackBerry support is a very new feature of that keyboard. It uses Bluetooth/serial which is used by all other BlackBerry compatible Bluetooth keyboards (There are now about 3 or 4 brands available -- the best brand probably being the ThinkOutside Shasta)

Thanks,

Knowing that the BlackBerry bluetooth stack and SPP profile will never be as good as HID, my guess is this virtual keyboard will have similar issues with the typing performance like the other keyboards. You can bet on it that even though think outside has been in the wireless keyboard business longest, there is no way that their shasta driver be any better than the rest unless they rewrite the BlackBerry Bluetooth stack.

From a gadgets point... I gotta get me one of these virtual keyboards. Just wow everyone around me.

Think Outside seems to think that their new Shasta keyboard won"t work with the Blackberry 7130e. Does anyone know otherwise, from personal experience?
