Default cant use bluetooth while using headphone jack - 07-18-2008, 11:38 PM

I have connected my blackberry via the headphone jack (using a mini to mini auxilary cable) to the aux input of my car stereo. This enables me to listen to MP3 and at the same time get GPS navigation instructions through the car stereo (it's awesome)

However by using the headphone jack, the blackberry thinks I am using a wired headphone and bypasses my bluetooth connection to my car, so I am not able to make calls.

The bluetooth connection is still "live" but there is no audio going back and forth until I unplug the headphone jack.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Thanks for any advice

This is an OS based function and I do not think it can be overcome.

ok found the solution:
Buy a bluetooth music gateway (blackberry has one for $60), that plugs into the aux jack of the car deck. Pair it up with the blackberry and now you can play music, have gps navigation and ability to make and asnwer calls via one device.
