Default 7520 & Bluetooth - 09-03-2005, 04:20 PM

I have a BB 7520 & a Mac PowerBook. Is there a solution that will allow me to use the bluetooth to surf the web and check email on my Mac?

Nextel apparently disables the modem function in the 7520

you could say that again... my wife and I signed up for Nextel Service last year, before Nextel and Sprint announced the possibility of a merger... we had sprint service... god knows what we paid for, because the service just plain sucked.

dinlong - you may know exactly what I want to. is the SE hbh-660 compatible with Direct Connect AND does the caller ID work? Any problems?

The headset works great with direct connect. When a person first beeps you it does take about a second to connect to the headset, so you hear the phone beep and then the headset. You do still have to use the dc button on the phone to respond (this is true of every headset though).

The caller id works, but only shows the number - it does not show the name of the person calling.

I have heard from some sources that the hbh-662 will show the name in caller id on some phone that the hbh-660 would not. I may actually pick one up in the next week or so. If I do I will be sure to post my findings here.

What are your thoughts about this unit's sound quality vs. the reviews by barjohn - he really likes the sound quality of the Plantronics V510 based on his testing.

I have had the hbh-660 for about 6 weeks now.

While I cannot compare this headset to the voyager (as I have not used that headset), I would say that while the sound quality is not perfect it is more than acceptable. As I have said before this headset is also quite loud, which for me is a major plus (most of my talking is done in the car with my stereo on).

I have the Sony BC-DRBT1 and it works great with my 7520. I have not upgraded the software either, but I will to see if there is a difference. I did hesitate when I thought about buying it because I could not find a review on it anywhere and the size of it. But it turned out great. This is the most comfortable headset I've had. Ive had the Jabra 250v, Logitech Mobile Freedom, Motorola HS820 and HS850. I beleive this headset would be a good one to try if you dont mind the size.
