Default Transfer non media files through bluetooth - 09-04-2008, 09:56 PM

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a way to transfer non-media files via bluetooth. I am able to transfer music/ pictures right now. However I get an error whenever I try and transfer a file of a different format (in my case .aa format). Renaming the file did not help either.

Any suggestions?

Nope, not all file types are transferable by Bluetooth.

With 4.5.77 on my 8330, I've discovered that it's possible to transfer both Excel spreadsheets (.xls) and Access Databases (.mdb) using BT, along with the usual media files. I can understand support for Excel, since Documents To Go can open those files. Access is a bit of a puzzle, though, since I know of no application for the BB that will open those files.

I'm assuming the .aa extension mentioned above is for an Audible(tm) audio book. I don't have any to experiment with, so I can't determine whether it's possible, unfortunately.
