Talking TomTom 930 GO and 8310 on AT&T for DATA - 09-13-2008, 04:14 PM

Ok, there has been a LOT of chatter about these two and data connection. I think I got it to work! I upgraded my 8310 to 4.5 OS (see other posts) and then set my 930 as such: Let it try to connect to data and fail. Then select other and then manual. Enter wap.cingular for the proxy. Enter nothing for name and password and then default for the next 2 questions. It looked for the TT data server through my 8310 and found it. I was able to check the weather for free. I need to sign up for Traffic but the weather was not reachable before!! I haven't tried out anything else yet. I will post more as I tool around with it a bit. I found the APN addres under TCP in the settings menu.

Hope this helps,

Craig

After several days I have noticed no issues. The free weather through my 930 is nice and I will be downloading the traffic PLUS today. I wanted to try everything else out before I spent the money downloading it.
