Default Blueant x5i and 8100 on

Psyched about A2DP support on my new 8100 OS, I picked up a refurbished Blueant x5i on ebay. Major disappointment. They were not totally uncomfortable, but they were nowhere near loud enough and the call quality was horrible. Might as well forget about using these for calls; you're better off with a couple of tin cans and string. Crackling, distortion, audio gaps, and it sounds just as bad on the opposite end.

As far as bluetooth audio, I understand some of the other devices transmit much more clearly. I couldn't deal with all the static, although they sounded much better in this mode than during calls.

Anyone else have experience with this headset? Did I just get a bad one? Does it work better with other devices?
