Default slow bluetooth transfer files between the pearl and laptop is slow

i just got a Pearl. last night i transfer some pics from the phone to my HP laptop using bluetooth. the speed is so slow compare to my Sony w810i. is it normal?

why that slow? because no object push obex? and is there anyway to fix/improve it? 100kb pic took 5mins to transfer. i can't stand it

I don't recall it being that slow but I don't use BT between my laptop and BB anymore. USB is so much quicker and more reliable.
