Default bluetooth dropping on my pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone had problems with their bluetooth not holding a connection? I have a Pearl 8130, if I enable bluetooth but don't connect it to a device, it stays up for days. If I connect it to a headset, it will seem to randomly lose connection and the bluetooth setting will be on 'disabled' on the phone. I thought maybe it was my headset, it was old anyway, but I got a new headset (both are Motorola), and it has the same problem. Any ideas?

Wierd, I never had a headset drop like that.

Have you re-paired the headset, when you power on the headset does it automaticly connect? (Check the device properties make sure it is trusted)

Yup, I re-paired the original headset... and, well, the new one was brand new and it did it from the start.... the headset does connect automatically when turned on, but everything will die completely after a certain length of time, anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours...

I do the *228 activation sequence. Not sure where the OS info is stored... if I look at system info it has "v4.3.0.60 (Platform 3.1.0.32)"

Verizon Released and updated OS for the Pearl, 4.5.0.77 which gives you alot more capabilites (Documents To Go For word/excel, HTML Email, and a few changes in the Browser) you might want to try and upgrade. (Instructions are found in the FAQ part of the site). That might help your BlueTooth Issues.

Default Bluetooth Dropping on my Pearl

I have the same issues. Purchased new headset and it continues to randomly drop. Did the upgrade help? I tried to upgrade to 4.5 and it wiped out my entire OS system. Be careful on the upgrade.

Interesting, I followed the suggestion about upgrading the OS, but when I tried, the software said I didn't need an upgrade and wouldn't download anything. Couldn't find a manual download process either. Go figure! I saw on another thread that Verizon doesn't allow the OS upgrade to 4.5? I'm on Verizon...

ok, followed the instructions on this thread saying how to upgrade the OS, seems to be working after a few hours. BTW, follow the instructions and the link... even though it says 'Alltel', it works for any carrier.
