Angry BlueAnt Z9i - going back to store

Got the brang new one (red) from NewEgg. Range is about 2 feet, constant static and background noise. After firmware update to 1.1 new problem - fax machine noise randomly during pickup of call.

Anyone else see these problems? I have a Moto H375 and it works flawlessly, 30' range, crystal clear, but it lacks call waiting and conference features...

Wirelessly posted

I've been using a black z9i with 1.1 firmware on a bb 8310 and now 9000 with great results. Sounds like a bad unit?

Mine is great. I prefer it over the Jawbone and Jawbone II, although its noise cancellation is not as good.
