Default blue tooth help

Please Login to Remove!

Can anyone suggest which blue tooth to use with 8310 edge? I use it a lot walking the streets. My goals:

1. good noise reduction so listener can hear me clearly
2. good fit (not that after 30 minutes my ear turns red)
3. Of course good hearing on my end.

Not asking for too much am I? Would be nice if the battery would last for 3-4 hours min.

Are there any devises that can work either as bluetooth or can be plugged in to save battery use (i.e. when in car?).

Let me tell you I have a very old BT headset a Motorola HS820 and I plug it in the car whenever I feel the need for more battery, I had this little thing for a year or so and it cost me a little less than 70 bucks back then, I had never had another hands free before so you decide if my opinion counts, I find this unit 8.0 (in a scale 1-10) in the 3 goals you are looking for. Good luck finding what you want.

I've used both JawBones, while they are expensive they have great noise cancellation.

They do sell car chargers for the JawBone but they must be bought seperately.

Moved to Bluetooth Connection.

Here is my breakdown of the best I have used:

Jabra BT530 :
Noise Reduction: 7/10 - Good in moderate noise.
Fit/Comfort: 9/10 - Ear gels and removable loop, quite comfortable after 2 hours of use
Local Audio: 8/10 - loud and crisp audio, no echo or static
Recipient Audio: 7/10 - minimal echo, digitized effect
Look: 9/10 - discreet, flat black
Battery: 8/10 - lasts through 2 works days of moderate use
Misc: I absolutely love the dedicated on/off switch located on the underside
BlueAnt V1 :
Noise Reduction: 6/10 - Average overall noise reduction, "Voice Isolation" causes digitized sound and echo
Fit/Comfort: 9/10 - Ear gels offer good comfort, and the sliding loop creates a custom fit.
Local Audio: 9/10 - as good as I have heard
Recipient Audio: 8/10 - very good with limited background noise
Look: 7/10 - slightly bulky, and the loop looks industrial
Battery: 6/10 - requires a charge after each day of use
Misc: the in ear voice prompts are a nice feature, and the buttons are easy to use
Jawbone 2 :
Noise Reduction: 9/10 - Excellent reduction in the noisiest of conditions. Has a tinny effect when activated.
Fit/Comfort: 7/10 - my ear was sore after a few hours, constant contact with my face is a nuisance
Local Audio: 7/10 - occasional echo
Recipient Audio: 7/10 - echo, and muffled audio
Look: 9/10 - hidden buttons and LED, pattern is nice as well, multiple colors available
Battery: 6/10 - lasts about a day with moderate use. Noise cancellation appears to drain the battery quickly.
Misc: nice looking device, awesome while driving in the car and delivering clear audio, easy to bump the exterior and end calls by accident
Plantronics Discovery 925 :
Noise Reduction: 8/10 - Very Good in moderate noise.
Fit/Comfort: 8/10 - no loop, well designed ear gel, secure fit
Local Audio: 9/10 - as good as on the handset
Recipient Audio: 9/10 - recipients thought the audio was improved from the handset audio
Look: 9/10 - basic chrome, and simplistic design, many color options
Battery: 10/10 - comes with a case that has a small battery inside to charge while on the go, this extends the battery life
Misc: The included case is something all BT devices should come with. The fact that it also adds some battery life is a pure bonus
Recommendation:
Budget : Jabra BT 530
Best in Show : Plantronics Discovery 925
Best Noise Cancellation : Jawbone 2

I have had many from high end to chep ones (I have had at least 30 over the years) and I am stuck on the JawBone 2. Love the noise reduction which is the best compared to the BlueAnt and Discovery in my opinion. I got their new Beta ear buds and they are awesome, I have it in for about 8 hours a day and half the time unless I am talking I forget it's in my ear. Try them all, just make sure you buy from some place that allows returns and try em out yourself. You will fall in love with the JawBone 2.
