Default BT Connection keeps dropping - 03-08-2006, 05:56 PM

Hi, I recently got a Sony Ericsson HBH-600 BT headset. I like it .... but only when it is connected!!!

I had the headset paired up real easy, looked through the forums here, set it to Trusted and Discoverable etc. I don't have BT on all the time, but when I do need it, I enable BT on my 8700c, then turn on the headset. It finds the 8700c quickly and establishes a connection but in a few minutes, my BB tells me that connection has been lost. Even if I press and release the button on my headset to reestablish the connection, but that also eventually drops. The only time it does not drop is when I am actually on a call and using the headset.

It is a pain, I am wearing the headset, a call comes in, I answer the call, can't hear anything, then I am scrambling for the phone so I can hear the person. I must look pretty funny with a headset on one ear and a phone on the other.

Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance

Any answers? I have the same problem with my 8700c and a Plantronics Discovery 640. It's driving me nuts! The devices are connected, a few feet apart, yet over a period of time, some time just 15-20 minutes they just disconnect.

Bump...problems continue with my SE HBH-660. I like the headset because (a) of its battery life indicator, (b) no blue glowing light lighting up my ear like some of the others, (c) and the call quality when it works. But it keeps disconnecting

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I also have the 660 and have had the same problem since I had the 7520. I cannot offer a solution, just sympathy. I like the boom/switch on the Motorolas, but that is about it. The Motorola works perfectly with the blackberries, though.

I have heard about issues with the Sony headset, but not the plantronics. I use an HS500 motorola headset and I have not had any of those problems. If you like that particular headset (whichever you have), try upgrading to a newer OS (Bharti or Orange). Maybe that will resolve any issues you are having.

Best of luck.

Maybe I will try that, I just did not want to take on the hassle of upgrading, I have not found a clear thread that tells me exactly what to do to upgrage to Bharti. Time to hit the search button I guess (when I get some time from the rat race)

Even with a Bharti upgrade I still have problems with BOTH my Sony headsets. Sucks.

I'm switching over to a new Jabra or back to my old Moto BT.

Default Same Bluetooth issue 7100i - 10-13-2006, 11:14 AM

I have the same issue with a Nextel 7100i. My Bluetooth constantly looses connection and reconnects every 2 minutes or so. It is driving me crazy.

I have tried many different types of headsets that work perfectly fine with my Cingular Moto phone. I have tried multiple Moto headsets, multiple Jabra headsets and a Blue Trek headset. I have even tried the Bluetooth setup on my new 2006 Toyota Camry. All display the exact same problem!!!!

If I am on a call, the headsets or car bluetooth hold fine. It never drops a call. However, minutes after the call, it is back to dropping and re-establishing connections.

I would live with this frustrations if it didn't make it impossible to read emails, with all the drops and reconnect messages.

I will try the Hong Kong or Bharti upgrades if that is the only solution. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a 8700g and a plantronics voyager 510. I was experiencing the same connected/disconnected problem. Very annoying to be driving and have that beeping in your ear every 3-5 minutes. Just today being annoyed with it, I start rereading the instruction booklet thinking I missed something (no help of course) and playing with my blackberry. I found under BB option->bluetooth->click on headset->device properties-> refresh service list it said waiting for headset so I put the headset in pairing mode and it SEEMS not to have not dropped since.
Did i know what i was doing. Not really but it seems to have worked. Why not try it or maybe one of the experts out there can tell me what that 'refresh service list' is for.

ok no sooner than i posted the above did the disconnect/reconnect start again. i tried to figure out what i had really done. it seems I turned off the headset then hit refresh service list the cut headset back on but for know it seems it didn't really work and solve the problem. I had gone about 2 hours without the problem so it thought i solved it.
oh well.
sorry. If anyone finds a solution that works let me know. I'll keep trying as well.

Well I upgraded to the new tmobile 4.1.0.346 and now 6 hours and counting no disconnects. While I was upgrading I tried the headset on my wife's pearl and it worked flawlessly so I figured it was the phone. So the gecko was right. Upgrading seemed to do the trick.
Hooray!!
