Default Low Volume on Bluetooth Headset Moto H700 - 07-26-2006, 01:12 PM

This earpiece works great for me, other than that the max volume is a bit low. I read other reviews that raved about the earpiece being so loud they had to turn it down. I definitely haven't had that problem.

Does anyone know if there is some obscure setting I'm missing? I don't have a "headset or handsfree" profile to choose. I click the "up" volume (on the earpiece) until it beeps. The default volume on the handset is set to 100%. I know there's a OS update I don't have, but does that have any new bluetooth additions?

Phone: 7290
Earpiece: Motorola H700
OS: 4.1.0.256

Not sure the reason for your problem, but I will say that every Moto headset I have ever tried has had insufficient volume.

I am as deaf as a haddock...I have had good luck with Moto's 810, 500, 605 BUT not the 700 couldnt hear or be heard on it. I would chalk it up to a bad unit but a bud has one and the only place he can use it is indoors.

Cheers!

Your H700 is probably defective.

If you used the HS810, the H700 should be louder than the HS810 (but doesn't sound as great). The HS850 is good, but its quieter then the H700 and the HS810, althought the HS850 has better battery life.

I never liked the H700. I think the features are good (and nice it uses the same charger as my bb) but I can't stand the audio quality. Its just horrible, and there seems to be a bad batch of them. So i'm sticking with my HS850 (which sadly, is fairly quiet).

Well that blows...I bought this thing because I read others' reviews about how noticably louder it was than other earpieces. So nobody knows of any super secret setting to profile that I could adjust on the handset eh??? Any fixes in the most recent OS upgrade?

It should be louder then what you used before. Like I said sounds like yours is defective. Return it and get a different one. See if that helps. The h700 is louder than the hs810.

I never used the HS810, so I don't know what "louder" is comparable to...I just read reviews that people had to turn theirs down because it was so loud. Now, I have had feedback in this forum that people also had the same problem...because of that I'm hesitant to go buy the same one. (I can't return mine, bought it new on craigslist)

Oh well...back to the drawing board

Call motorola and get it exhanged. Spend an hour of your time talking to someone who barely speaks english, wait 3 weeks and boom, another headset. I warrenty exchange items all the time with motorola, its just a pain because of the reps.

I have the HS700 and it's actually too loud for me at times. However, my issue is that it does not stay linked when I have the device on my ear with the boom open and no call going on. It keeps switching from "Device not connected" to "established connection", back and forth constantly. It drives me nuts, but audio quality is excellent and I actually have people tell me it's much better then when I have the HS850 which had a lot of echoing.
