Question 8700g bluetooth - 08-13-2006, 11:11 AM

Hi,

I've enabled bluetooth on my 8700g and have set the 'discoverable' option to 'yes'.

However, I'm still unable to pick up this device from my nokia or samsung phone when trying to send images/mp3's to the 8700.

I can pair with the 8700, but I'm not able to find it when trying to send data....

Does anyone know if this is a limitation? (I'm aware data sending was a limitation on the 7 series bb's.)

Thanks

Although you can "pair" the BB with other devices, you can not share ANY information with them.

All BT on a BlackBerry can do is wireless audio headsets, a few BT keyboards, BT printing with a specific solution, and BT sync with a laptop or desktop. Nothing else.

Sending data on an 8700 is no different than on any other BT equipped BlackBerry.

I have only had my 8700g for a few days. I have a motorola bluetooth earpiece. I've set bluetooth options on the BB to Discoverable, enabled bluetooth, turned on the earpiece and selected "Add Devices" but it doesn't detect the earpiece. Any suggestions?

Thanks,!

I would guess that you haven't set the earpiece into discovery mode. Check your user's manual for details on how to do that. You don't just turn it on.

Ah yes. It had been so long since I initially "paired" it with my old phone that I forgot that part. Had to dig up the manual but it works fine now. Thanks!!!!!

I've got an 8707 device, which is 3G enabled.

Does anyone know if bluetooth can be used to connect the 3G modem in the Blackberry 8707 to a Bluetooth enabled laptop?

Which will allow my laptop to get internet access.... basically there would be no need to buy a 3G Vodafone card for the laptop

thanks
