Default Bluetooth Pairing Issue for Keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a problem in that only 2 services are available for bluetooth pairing on all blackberry devices in a BES 4.1 environment.

I have looked into this, and found that the IT policy on the BES has to be set to be set so it allows bluetooth devices to connect. When I set it so the bluetooth is off, it disables bluetooth on the devices, so that confirms that the settings propogate to the devices.

I have set the following entries as below:
Disable Bluetooth - False
Disable Pairing - False
Disable Headset Profile - False
Disable Handsfree Profile - False
Disable Serial Port Profile - False
Disable Discoverable Mode - False

And still the only 2 services available on each device are "Headset" and "Handsfree".

How can I get options for adding other devices through the bluetooth?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards
Martin

Default

BB's don't support the HID profile needed for keyboard support. The only profiles supported are the ones listed above. 4.2 also introduces DUN

There was another thread with a BT keyboard specifically for BB - Not sure how that operates, but they must install some other driver / handler that leverages the BT Serial interface, or something.
