I have the Verizon 7250 and I use the Motorola HS-820 with no problems at all. The people at the other end like the way it sounds and the clarity and volumen are superior. My end is clear, sharp and loud. So no complaints from me.

Well I have the Jabra 250 and it is good with my 7520. I did go out and buy the HS850 this weekend and the sound was great, call clarity was good, but I could not get the darn thing on my ear secure enough. No matter what I did it was really loose. So it is going back. I ordered a Tekkeon EzTalker Mini, all the reviews are good and the fit looks secure because it has an ear insert along with the hook. I will let you know. I am gonna sell this Jabra..its 1 month old..nothing wrong with it..just want the "blinking blue" disco light! lol

I have the 7250 on VZW and just received last week the Plantronics V510. It is unbelieveable as far as the sound goes. I also have a Jabra BT250 that I used before the plantronics unit arrived.

With the Nextel 7520 the following have been tested to work:
Motorola HS810, 820, and 850
Plantronics 2500
Jabra BT250
And a couple more, cant remember...

And whatever you do, don't get one of the cheap Bodyglove ones...worked with someone for an hour Monday on pairing one and no luck whatsoever...

Oh, and they will interact with some bluetooth-enabled Lexus and BMW automobiles...but don't worry about interference unless your car starts veering to the right each time you direct connect O_o... Just kiddin.

Unfortunately, works is too broad a term. Almost any headset will pair with the device. It is more a matter of quality of connection both ways, comfort, ease of use, appearance, size and weight that make a difference. If the noise cancellation is no good, it might work but so what? If you use it outdoors and the slightest breeze creates a roaring noise it really isn't useable in my opinion. We need much more specifics, from your experience in order to be able to make intelligent purchase decisions. Thanks!

True...but $29 for a headset that works "good enough" is better than spending $120 for a headset that performs adequetly. I really can't justify spending a ton of money on a device that does nothing more or better than a $15 wired ear-mic...But the $29 IOGear device is just perfect. It's a balance of price and functionality.

I just received the Plantronics 510 Voyager and after using a Motorola HS-850 since I purchased my 7290. I have always been a big Moto fan but the difference in sound quality alone is very evident, especially in noisier environments.

I have a 7520 also. The Scala-500 headset works with DC? Is that using the button on top of the blackberry for PTT ? or a button on the headset?

The Sony hbh-662 works withe the BB7290, you get caller id on the headset

I have a 7520 and the HS850 and it works great. A little low on the volume side but when you work in an office enviorement it just perfect.

I have an HS 850 that works ok with my TMobile 7290. Sound quality in and out is understandable, although in noisy enviornments, I have to hold the unit to my ear to hear (which kinda defeats the purpose of hands free...). I use the BB as my office phone, so I often use the headset for several hours a day. Although there is no discomfort with the headset, I always feel like it is going to fall off, and since I wear glasses, I sometimes have to adjust the fit to hear well.

I have thought about either the Plantronics or Jabra with a piece that goes into the ear, versus just sitting on top...

The Plantronics will be loud but with glasses you will have the same issues with the ear hook. The Flamingo is almost as loud and better for glass wearers.

I should warn you that while I haven't tested the Scala 500 my real world experience with a friend that has one calling me is that the audio was often choppy and unintelligble and I would have to make him switch to the phone so that I could hear and understand him. Others have had similar experience. The good news is it is cheap!

I have called Blackberry, Motorola and my carrier (Cingular - UGH!), and have gotten the total runaround.

I cannot get the HS820 to work w/my 7290. My device IS bluetooth enabled. The HS820 IS paired to my 7290. The bluetooth headset IS on. But when I make a phone call, I am hearing nothing on the headset, and I even tried adjusting the volume. I'm guessing there's some tiny little thing I'm not doing right...?

Go to settings, then Bluetooth and select your headset. Then select connect to have it connect up. You also need to go to properties and make it a trusted device.

I have the Jabra BT800. It does not work with the Blackberry (tried 7290 and 7100). It will pair and you can talk, but you will have problems answering, hanging up and dialing from the call list. I have also had a few weird phone disconnects while using it that I haven't had with the wired headset. I got the BT800 before Jabra updated their website. I believe if you can find their compatibility table they now have both the Blackberry and the BT800 on their lists. All combinations of BT800 and bluetooth Blackberries come up not compatibile.

<rant>I know other's have had good luck with Jabra, but my opinion of them based on this post-sales support experience is their products are junk and their company sucks. I would never recommend anyone buy a Jabra product. Their customer service is unresponsive and they don't care about their customers.</rant>

I'm running a Moto H500 with BB 7290 OS 4.0.2.

At lower highway speeds, no complaints from either end - volume is adequate on my end, and no complaints from the other end. At higher speeds (> 100km/h), it becomes difficult to hear the other party over road noise, and the other party complains that I sound like I'm in a tunnel. Haven't tried yet with Encryption off - anyone think that'll make a difference?

Enclosed vehicle, but bear in mind that it's a 12 year old vehicle, so it's hardly a perfectly sealed environment or a particularly quiet ride. Since posting the above, I've noticed that the volume and quality are much better when the other party is on a land line and not another cell. I still haven't tried the unit with encryption off...in fact, this posting has reminded me to give that a try. I'll amend the post above in the next few days after experimenting.
