Im using the Jabra JX10.. Very small and lightweight headset, once you put it on your ear in about 30 seconds you forget its there until someone calls you.. The problem I have with it is it doesnt pick up on my voice as well as the BT250 does in a loud environment.. I have to speak louder but otherwise I love the not-in-your-ear feeling it gives you..

Default 7290 and Motorola H700 - 01-03-2006, 03:59 PM

Haven't heard from anyone out there... but I have an update. It appears that the tone is audible in synch with the standby light only when the BB is searching for the network/phone signal. Bottom line, I suppose it is good to get an indicator of lost service, but it is a bit annoying. I happen to live in a marginal coverage area, so I have to keep it out of my ear until I get to more normal coverage. Otherwise, not a bad unit. More comments posted under "Review" thread.

Must say that I'm new to the forums as well as to BlackBerry's in general. Been trying to use my old Moto HS815 with my BB 7290. I can hear just fine. But sometimes it won't let me answer calls on the headset. Anyone have any idea what gives on that?

This is a very common problem. There is still some mysterious (for me anyway) compatability issue with handsets and headsets. Seems you have to hunt for the headset that works best with your handset. Searching through the info on this forum should help you cut to the chase quickly though.

Default Jabra BT250v - 01-08-2006, 11:30 AM

Just got the Jabra BT 250v, and it It feels great, like its almost not there. And sounds good too. I would recommended to anyone that's out there looking for a Bluetooth headset.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.16)

I am using the nextel 7100i with a jabra 250. Since this is my first bluetooth headset, I can not compare it to anything else. But I can tell you that in my own opinion, I think the volume could be louder. Without my headset, I keep the phone volume on about half which is a comfortable level for wherever I am. But when using the headset, I must turn the volume to the max in order to hear comfortably. Even with that earpiece pointing directly in my ear. Also, I get that pop and crackle aswell, but I ignore it mostly. But, on the upside, it was very easy for me to get the headset up and running for the first time, being my first bluetooth experiance. I just wish the DC ALERT tone came through the headset. That is the main reason I wanted the headset. Anyone else have a nextel bb with a bluetooth headset that can receive DC ALERT tones. Through the headset? All other functions work fine.

I like the Jabra JX10 with the 7250. I'm hoping it will work as well with the 7130e, as I will be upgrading to that device in a couple of months.

Have you checked into this one Motorola MiniBlue H5

anyone tested the HS810 with a 7100i? In my blackberry newbie experience, I didnt realize that certain bt headsets only work with certain devices, altho it stated it will work with any bt device. just curious....

I have an usual question I'm still investigating BT headsets, however I'm still using a wired. My question is when I use my wired if I put my phone in a case or my pocket while on a call buttoms get pressed, so those of you with some sort of BT how do you carry your BB when on a call? Is there a way to lockthe keypad while on a call?

thanks noob-rob

i have the Nextel 7100i. the current headset that i am using is the Motorola H700. it is perfect. i have not had any problems with this one. i also did have the Motorola H500 but it was 2 bulky for my ear. it would never stay on. so it was useless.

After reading all the posts in this thread and a few others I am under the impression that there is no bluetooth wireless headset that has a PTT button on it. Am I correct or does someone know of one?

I'd like to be able to keep my phone in it's holster most of the time and when I recieve a DC from someone just depress a button on the outside of my headset to respond. Sounds kind of treky like but I think it would be so nice to have something that did this. Why don't vendors think of this stuff?

How about with the 7100g? Had a Motorola HS850 and hated it, couldn't hear anyone in the car. Now a Jabra BT500. Nice, comfortable, but people I talk to complain it picks up ALL ambient sound.

Need something with great noise cancelling. Any thoughts?

I just recently picked up a 7250. I have been researching and trying to determine which Bluetooth headset would be best for the 7250. How is the Motorola H700 with the 7250?

I have the 7520 and use the Jabra BT500... It works great with my nextel. It runs about 99.00 and has decent runtime.

7130 and H500 work fine together so far. Just got the H500 today and like it so far.

One4thegripper, I had that headset and wanted to throw it out the window. I had NOTHING BUT PORBLEMS with it (wasted $70). I will say that the only positives I had with this particular headset were the sound quality and the physical fit of the headset. I could hear perfectly once I got it to pick up a call. I also wear eyeglasses and was SHOCKED to find out it stayed in my ear and only fell off a few times. I posted the specifics in another thread related to BT headsets. I plan on purchasing a Motorola H500 BT.

I use a Moto H500 with my 7290; have been using it about 2 months. It works fine in my environment -- semi quiet, mostly in my vehicle. I wear glasses and was concerned that would be an issue, but the glasses ear piece fits comfortably over the H500, probably keeps it more secure. If you are not in a semi-quiet environment you might want to look at the Moto 700 that has noise cancellation features.

I will be using my phone and headset in the following environments:
home
college campus
car (once I start driving again on my own)
all over Texas (I go to different camps in Tx)
work (I hope to be working sometime soon)

I have a 7290, and just picked up the Motorola HS820. When I go to "add device", no new devices are found. Is this compatible? or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!
