Default I'm Bluetooth iliterate..what do I need.... - 04-23-2007, 11:11 AM

I want to be able to connect my pda and my 8100 to my laptop via Bluetooth instead of dealing with cables when I want to sync either device.

I have a new laptop that doesn't have Bluetooth (yet strangely it has a button for it!) - the os is Vista and I already installed the service pack from BB's website for the desktop manager. My pda is a Palm TX (with wi-fi and bluetooth). I know, I know, it's probably redundant to still use the TX now that I have a BB, but I love my TX...lol!

So I did a search to see what I need and I'm more confused than ever before! Should I be looking into one of those usb Bluetooth things or an actual headpiece? And there are so many choices - what should I be looking for when choosing a Bluetooth device?

Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated since I am just clueless when it comes to Bluetooth!

I'm bumping this. I, too, have a PalmTX and was hoping to transfer my memos to BB, but am having 'issues.' Is any sync between these 2 hopeless?

In order to do this, you would need to get a bluetooth adapter.

What I have is the PARROT Bluetooth USB Dongle, that works with all PC desktops and laptops equipment with a USB 2.0 interface.

The great thing about this is, it supports a lot of bluetooth profiles. From A2DP (Advance Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP, DUN, FTP, HCRP, HFP, HSP and so much more. With the latest accessories gearing more on "wireless" profiles, this adapter is great.

I can't wait for the Motorola S9 Bluetooth Headset which is available soon. With this adapter, I can listen to my iTUNES wirelessly on my computer.
