Question Proper Automatic Desktop Sync (via Bluetooth) - 05-04-2007, 10:25 AM

Hi,

I've searched around the forum and couldn't find the answer to my question, so hopefully you guys might be able to help.

My 8700g is connected to my desktop via bluetooth. I currently have it set to sync automatically when connected, and have a (horrible and invasive) batch file to automatically open the Desktop Manager, and close it.

Is there some way to enable the BB to sit on my desk, connected to my PC via bluetooth, and automatically sync itself very 15 minutes/when there's a change.

My company doesn't have a BES, and if this isn't accomplishable through the Desktop Software itself, is there a 3rd party scheduler that I can use instead?

Hope that makes sense, and thanks for your help

Oli

Default bluetooth Sync - 05-05-2007, 07:12 PM

can't sync with blutooth, only USB cable.
Bluetooth will show connected on desktop manager but you can only use it to connect your BB as a modem if you don't have a internet connection on your PC or laptop.
In short you must be connected via USB to sync, if you don't have a BES.

i dont believe your statement is accurate. I just have recently acquired a 7290 and a pearl, i have successfully sync'd both with my outlook calendar (all items). I dont even have any BES or BIS installed on my computer, just outlook 2007 and it works like a charm (getting the BT to work with MS Stack was a whole different issue, enough threads on that here).

Once i sign up with a data plan, i will be good to go with BIS.
I pondered on this thread, as i too was wondering if there is a shortcut to sync unattended when bb is in range. i know that is possible too, just havent found the right thread. ( i read a thread before, but was unable to get my BT working with my pc, now that i have conquered that, i am now looking for that thread again.)
