Default 7130 not pairing with a plantronics 510 - 05-27-2007, 08:33 PM

Bluetooth is enabled on the 7130
but I cannot see the 510 headset to pair with.
I can see the 510 with my 8707 so I know the headset is a viable device.

Has anyone had similar issues.? And if so how did you resolve them

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Where did the 7130 come from? Could it have an IT policy on it? It should pair the same as your 8707. Put the headset in pairing mode then do an "add device." It should show up.

Where did the 7130 come from? Do you mean is this a dodgily gotten phone? It is owned by the company, Legitimately so.

Could it have an IT policy on it? Yes it does, But sadly not one that prevents the usage of Bluetooth. I read this reply and check. And then dble checked by referring this ato the senior BES admin.

It should pair the same as your 8707. Yes I know, Which makes this all the more puzzling.

Put the headset in pairing mode then do an "add device." And it returns 'no devices' found.Endlessly.

It should show up. In between banging my head against walls and generally rocking back and forth in one spot,. I agree.

Hey thanks for your suggestions. ALtho my above comments could be reard as sarcastic, They are meant to convey a sense of humour running a little twisted.I appreciate any and all help and I am especially greatful for your fast response.

No, I didn't mean was it acquired "dodgily." I only meant could it have come off a BES.

Wirelessly posted (BB 8860: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

No worries! I've posted with low blood sugar myself a few times! And you are right. Bad combination!

Is it salient to define the model more specifically to the 7130v?

I mention this as we have more than one 7130v onsite that seems to share the same BT issue....

Have you tried disabling the BT and re-enabling? May be a reach, but you are sounding desparate.

Also, when my phone is feeling a bit wonky, i remove the battery.

...and there is always the aggressive wipe and reload OS combo.

you probably have tried these, but what the hey.
