Default WTB: BB for my mom for ~150$ or less

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone,

I found this forum on a google search, seems pretty active so I thought I'd try looking for a phone here.

My mom needs a new phone and I would like to buy a blackberry for her because she wants excellent mobile E-Mail and Calendar syncing but won't browse the web.

I'd like to spend 150$ or less. I'm not incredibly up on the BB market so I am open to any phones and will look at the reviews as needed.

If you have a phone I might be interested in, please post a link here, PM me, or send me an E-Mail at [email address]. Please note that I'm not going to buy a used phone without good pictures of it.

Thanks a lot,
Mike

If you buy her a Blackberry and she wants to use it for email, then she will also need a Blackberry Data Plan. Email will not function without it.

Your profile says you are on Tmobile. Tmobile.com has many blackberries for under $150.

If she wants push email, absolutely. It also enables all the other blackberry features as well.

Actually, I am not exactly clear on that. The only phone where it specifically says `A BlackBerry data service is required. ` is on the Bold 9700. On the curve it says only `A data service is required with this phone.`

I added the bold to my cart and it does not appear to be needing any extra services, I can check out now if I wanted to without adding anything special -- just the unlimited data plan that you would use for any of their smart phones. I know that you typically do with other carriers, but one of the reasons I was thinking of the BB with TMO is that it does not seem to need one.

I see you are new to this forum. Please do use the search feature on the top of this forum or in my sig and search for "data plan" and see the thousands of threads on this very topic.

If you don't believe me, read and wait for others to respond.
