Default Need recommendation: Warranty on BB [8700c] NIB, bought privately

Please Login to Remove!

Just bought new-in-box BB 8700c (I already have Cingular data for previous[broken] BB). Bought from guy who got as Sales award - so he says on eBay.

Is there any way to activate any warranty? Would be a year. Cingular says "it's not their's" RIM says "you didn't buy it from us"

It appears to be perfect [ used it for a week] Box was in perfect condition, etc, etc. All functions seem to work.

I can get eBay's/SquareOne "warranty" but it doesn't seem to cover much. What about loss & accident insurance?

I've searched for prior posts - so I'm guessing that everyone must know something I don't - or is there no answer? Thanx
